Ugh. House vent.

I think I mentioned a while back that we were looking at houses and finally our forth offer on a house was accepted. Well as of yesterday its officially down the drain. Its been a NIGHTMARE. We had problems with the inspection, but renegotiated. The process has taken forever. I don't know what the banks deal was, I really want to go with a different bank next time. The house did not appraise, it was $20,000 short of our offer. I do think the house is worth more than the appraisal as does my realtor. We tried to get a 2nd appraisal and the bank said no and would not budge from the appraised price for the mortgage. The sellers were refusing to go that low, which I don't blame them. So now we are back to the dreaded process of looking at homes. We have 14 that we are looking at this weekend. I really hope we find a good one. I can't take much more of this.     Oh and we are also our of over $800 in appraisal/ inspections fees.. Being a grown up sucks sometimes. Luck and wishes sent our way is well appreciated. Thanks!!

Ugh! So sorry that happened! I hope an even better house comes along!

We've been waiting to close for almost 5 weeks now and I think it's finally happening next week.

I'm sorry that it fell through! It's so frustrating trying to find a house. DH and I are finding it harder than we thought it would be.

Ugh! Sorry to hear that your sale fell through, what a pain! We recently sold our home which was actually fairly painless but now are having trouble finding a new one in our new city... Hopefully you find something you love soon!

We didn't put an offer on any from yesterday but my mil found 2 last night. Actually next door to each other. I went and saw them today and we put an offer on one and of course there was already one offer on it. We went 2 grand above so hopefully that helps us get it. And hopefully it will appraise. My agent thinks it will.

When we had to put our "best offer" in our realtor suggested going $200 above what we had originally talked about simply because it made the offer amount look higher so instead of it ending xx4,900 we did xx5,100. We figured at this point what's $200 if it gets us the house. It worked out and they selected our offer out of however many. I bet your $2000 over will make an impression!

We just sold our condo in November. We've been house hunting literally for YEARS. SO is one of those people who is not great with change. Case in point - even after we got the condo he didn't want to sell his house (which ended up being a good thing since that's where we are living now). But now we need something bigger as we have LO and with his mom getting older and not being able to take care of her house on her own it is time for her to move in with us. The problem for us now is finding something that all of us agree on and convincing SO's mom to move out of her neighbourhood.

Ugh. We didn't get it. Seeing 4 tomorrow. This is so frustrating. I feel like we will never get one.

@slmille4 who knows maybe I have looked at some if them? If I recall I think we both live in the metro area. So it's possible??
