S/o s/o being lazy...

Is there anything you're, how do I put this, like irrationally lazy about?

For me, it's writing down when to change my contacts (I have the kind you change every two weeks). There is no excuse for this; I live out of my planner...why can't I write "change contacts" (or, hell, even a "c") a couple weeks ahead of when I change them? Instead I'm always guesstimating about when to change them.

Oh and vitamins. When I was pregnant I was religious about taking them. Now I can never muster up the drive to take them. Makes no sense....it only takes a second.

Anyone else "stupid" lazy about anything or is it just me?? Maybe after posting this, I'll be better about these things....gonna go write down when to change contacts AND take a vitamin as we speak...

Re: S/o s/o being lazy...

  • Ordering contacts. Mine are supposed to be bi-weekly, but I always just wear them until they bother me because they're so expensive (astigmatism kind, like $100 for a box for each eye). Then I know I should order more when I get to the last pair, but I just put it off. It pains me to spend the money, lol.

Also, making phone calls that need to be made. I'm such a lazy procrastinator.

  • I have one. We bought a whole home generator wayyyy over a year ago. It's sitting in the box still. The concrete pad is poured and our neighbor is an electrician. All I have to do is call the power company and tell them I need a power upgrade. Ugh... I'm just being stupid and lazy. I WILL call the power company, tomorrow maybe?!?!?
  • My hair. It's really long, and for it to look good it takes about 2 hours of blow drying and straightening. So, on most days I just put it back in a braid.

  • Making appointments and calling our insurance company. Well, any "serious" phone calls really... which is why I am watching Pretty Little Liars rather than calling about DS's preschool and soccer lessons.

  • Refilling my asthma med. I'll even set an alarm on my phone and forget. I usually don't notice that I'm due for a refill until I start getting a withdrawal headache about a week after the med runs out. Part of that is that the container doesn't make it clear when it's empty, so I still take the two puffs twice a day but there's no way to tell there isn't anything coming out.

And I really suck at making appointments. I loved when I was pregnant and the lady at my OB office made my appointments for me and gave me a card on the way out.
I'm SO terrible at this, it's awful! Took DS it get his 2 months shots and found out DD never had her one year ones! *hangs head in shame*

  • Ugh making phone calls!  Like someone said, any type of 'grown-up' calls like to our insurance, or to schedule things, etc.  I want to get estimates to have a concrete patio poured and it's been on my list for a few weeks now and I keep procrastinating about it.  Dunno why.....I am dying for our patio to be replaced!!!!

I was the same as you... When I was pregnant I would take it everyday, religiously. Now, maybe I remember once a year oops  L-)
  • @raraavis28 and @Luckey4 Do you guys take any other medications daily? I take BC pills, allergy meds, and I just throw my vitamins in there as well. I have one of those old people pill cases because I literally take about 6 or 7 pills daily. Maybe that would help you?

No, I don't take any other meds, but that's a great idea!
  • Returning emails and phone calls. I will always "take care of that later".

I'm slightly jealous ;) I finally got my allergies worked out to where if I take montelukast (sp?) and claritin then I can breathe through my nose and I'm fine. If I miss it, I will be sneezing, eyes watering, and miserable the whole next day.

Allergies BLOW!!! The other night my sinusus swelled (?) up and it's like my nose shut off. If I was forced to breathe through my nose I would have died in 60 seconds. I HATE mouth breathing. I had to take 3 Benadryls. I was loopy and tired as hell, but could NOT breathe.

No other meds but that is a good idea! I think why I get lazy w/ the vitamins is the needing to take them after eating....I hate swallowing pills when I already feel full. I'm a weirdo, heheh.

@rachie1019‌ to breathe again - prescription nasal spray for allergies.

I have tried Nasocort. It give me nosebleeds. :/

  • Ugh that's good! Nasal sprays are the cure-all for *everyone's* allergies. And mine are awful. It figures I would get a dumb side effect. I take antihistamines and my eyes are so dry and itchy they feel like they are bleeding. Good times...

@rachie1019‌ have you tried just a straight up saline spray? It might help clear up your nose without being as harsh as some other sprays.

NO!! Just OTC, right? That's exactly what I needed the other night, just *something* to clear up my nose so I could breathe.

  • @raraavis28 tell me how to pronounce your new name. I get hung up on it every time I'm reading. D'oh!

  • The things I'm not lazy about would be a much shorter list. But maybe getting gas would be one of the worst. I run my tank right down to the fumes. Drives DH crazy.

    *stuck in a box, halp*

I pronounce it "rah-rah ah-vis." It's Latin for "rare bird"....or strange bird, heheh. There are different pronunciation conventions for Latin, but that's the one I use ;)
