s/o being lazy

What do you do that's lazy? FFTC?

DD wakes up an hour before DH has to get ready for work. Almost every morning, he gets up with her and entertains her so I can get a little more sleep. He does not spend this time doing laundry. I guess that makes us both lazy.

I'm about 12 weeks pregnant and still have morning sickness and fatigue so I have a little bit of an excuse.

We have clean laundry sitting in a hamper for a few days now.  I've been too lazy to take it upstairs and put it away, so we have been rummaging through the clean clothes hamper instead.

  • Sometimes I spend a long time staring at my pores in the bathroom. Lol. I'm happy I'm not the craziest one posting today S/O other thread

  • This past Sunday we all got up at the same time (around 7) I made a few eggs for breakfast, we ate on the sofa in front of the tv (rare) and then H and I literary spaced out while DS colored and played with stickers for like an hour. Then H took DS on a hike and I didn't move off the sofa. They came home and DS went right down for his nap (they ate lunch out) and I stayed on the couch for another couple hours. Then we had leftovers for dinner. I dunno if we were all fighting off a bug or just tired from the holiday but we were just wiped out lol. Definitely a lazy day :)
  • That is sweet, Roses! My DH doesn't do it every day, but when he does sneak in to do the morning diaper change I really appreciate the extra zzs! B/c you know, I'm sleeping in until like the crazy late hour of 6:30 AM....7 if I'm lucky.

Today I forgot to take out my ground turkey to thaw for meatloaf so I asked DH to grill brats outside instead. He was happy to do it. I did make the sides, though, so hopefully that redeems me.

I'm a couple days behind on my cleaning schedule again. The lack of morning nap is killing me....I used to get so much done while I had my first caffeinated burst of energy. Now when naptime comes the last thing I want to do is clean. :P

  • I've never mowed the lawn.  Not even when I lived with my parents.   Well I take that back, DH showed me how to start it and mow it one time a few years ago.  So I have mowed the lawn for about 10 minutes.

If something would ever happen to DH, I would probably pay a lawn service to mow it for me.
  • I should be folding laundry but I'm watching House of Cards and having a beer.
I also left the dishes for DH since it's his damn turn even though there are a lot of them.
  • I threw raisins at Ava's high chair tray so I could bump today. She was by the window so she could watch Jack play outside (she only gets limited outside time because of medical stuff) and I kept tossing them at her. She'd laugh and eat.

    Lazy win win!
I did the same thing!!! (kinda) I was trying to find a Pitch Perfect GIF and I kept the boys occupied w/ raisins while I searched. And then the raisin comments popped up on the UO thread.....
    :-?
    You're welcome! ;)
  • We are also currently wearing clean clothes out of the hamper. There is no way in heck I will get up before my kids (especially to do housework!?!?)
Guilty of this... Daily...  I love waking up early, getting my cleaning/laundry done, so as soon as DD wakes up, I can play with her and take it easy (for the most part) lol

I didn't know babies could have raisins. Adding that to my list of snacks for B.

I started giving them to DD a couple months ago. I asked her pedi at her 1 year and said its a good choice for a snack, but just be careful because she could choke but she has never had an issue.
  • Reese watched TONS of tv today, just because we were having a lazy day. She had carrots for breakfast (per her request, not that I actually feed her carrots for breakfast)

Very rarely I will wake up before DS. I plop my ass on the sofa to drink a cup of coffee and watch the news in peace.

I do this all the time! Even worse, I notoriously DO NOT unpack after vacations or trips. I put my suitcase in the guest room closet and live out of it until it's empty or I need to use it to pack again. I obviously wash the dirty clothes! But the clean stuff stays. Some shirts and favorite undies I grab and wear right away. Other stuff sits there. I think my vision is that I am always half packed in case of an emergency trip? Lazy excuse? It drives DH nuts!! He got home from a work trip tonight and is unpacked. My Mom gets pissed too. She always looks for dresses for the girls to wear that she bought them. I say "Oh I bet it's in your closet." My Mom: "WTH for??" LOL! I am very clean, crafty, and creative. Just NOT organized when it comes to closets.

  • Lazy cooking nights-- rotisserie chicken!
  • I take DD to my folks. They play and entertain her while I relax! I have too many to list!
  • Not only do I not get up before the kids, DH wakes me up after feeding them breakfast. By the time Julia was 2 she figured out that mommy was harder to wake up than daddy and started going and waking him up instead and that just stuck. The kids wake up, they wake him up, he feeds them breakfast and while they eat he brings me coffee in bed. He has actually brought me coffee in bed just about every morning since we moved in together (except when pregnant because I have an aversion). Admittedly he started that because he knew I needed to get up for work the Monday after he moved in with me, but was afraid to wake me up and brought coffee so I would be nice, but it has stuck for now 10 years. Drew helps him with it now and looks proud. Future DIL (or SIL, I make no assumptions), you can thank me for this!

And I've never used a lawn mower. But that's mostly because I'm hyper allergic. I can't be outside when the lawn is being mowed or have the windows open or I'm basically incapacitated for the rest of the day.

  • My Dad teases my Sister and me that we are like lazy cats. We just lay around purring. LOL! And when my Mom is around, forget it. Yaya can handle the kids. ;)

  • DS is getting over a bad cold so he wakes up practically every 2 hours so at 6 I kick DH and he gets up and let's me sleep until 8 when he has to leave. This morning he fed Mini a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for breakfast...

When I got home from our July 4th trip to my moms I unpacked the kids but threw my suitcase into the big closet and it's still there. Full of dirty clothing...

Mini showers with me at least 4x a week. 2 birds 1 stone. Except the other day she tried to wash my "boobies". No thanks kid.

  • I've never once gotten up before DS.

I've never mowed the lawn, but that's partly because I'm a little afraid of the lawnmower.

I sometimes give DS the ipad as a distraction so I can watch the Kardashians...

  • DS gets up at 6:15 every morning.  He knows that he has to come into my bed and quietly turn on the TV until the clock says 7:00.  I doze for that last 45 minutes until he shouts "It says seven zero zero, it says seven zero zero, time to get up!"

I only cook 4 nights a week.  On the rare occasion I cook on a Friday night, DH wonders what is wrong.  The other three days are carry out or whatever you can scrape together. Every person for themself!

I have a habit of spending nap/quiet time completely slacking off and then making a point of doing household chores (sorry whoever hates that word, but that's what they are) while DH is home so he can see just how very *busy* I am.

This reminds of the honest toddler post where it's almost time for dad to come home - quick, get dressed and rearrange the dirty dishes in the sink!

Totally not knocking you, I've certainly had those days!

  • The only time I will get up and moving before DS is if we have somewhere to be or an appointment or something. He usually sleeps til 930/10 now that it is summer and he is outside all day. So those extra few hours of sleep are glorious. And if I do wake up I'll just lay in bed and watch tv or play on my phone.

I also set the coffee maker or keurig, depending on what I feel like, before I go to bed so it is one less thing I have to do half asleep in the morning.

I have never cut the grass. That is dh department.

I also let my neighbor water our garden. We share a space between our garages and both of our gardens are there. He waters his religiously and will make sure he does mine too. When I do get out there and do it I make sure to do his as well.

Really? There's not one thing that you put off on your H just because you don't want to do it? Nothing you hire out? I'm jealous. I spend way too much time thinking of all the ways I can "outsource".
Well I don't mow (although I know how and did until we got married) or take out trash or put out the garbage bins each week, but I don't think of that as lazy because they just aren't my jobs, those are his things :) as far as outsourcing... My cleaning lady went away when I had dd2. As previously discussed, we don't really eat out either. I'm not being a martyr really I'd like to be lazy, I just feel guilty doing nothing (it's truly a typeA fault) and all the "easy "ways to be lazy seem to cost $. HELP ME!!!! I wanna be lazy too

We don't even own a lawn mower. We hired a company to mow our lawn. We never even considered doing it ourselves. 30$ well spent, if you ask me.

I actually don't mind deep cleaning so much but I wish I could afford someone for the upkeep. I hate dishes, picking up toys, laundry, etc.

I haven't cut out DD's morning nursing session because I like bringing her in my bed and shutting my eyes for 20 extra minutes. Then, after said nursing, I put her in her room and she plays and looks at books for about an hour. I lay in bed and sometimes watch her on the monitor. I actually "stage" her room the night before by laying out interesting toys and books. It seems to buy me more lazy time.

Ah I love cuddles in the morning!  DS dropped his morning nursing on his own just before a year but man I fought him on that one.  There was nothing better than just grabbing him, laying back down, and falling back asleep.  Since we took the side off of DSs crib about a month ago, he will wake up and come in bed with me almost every morning - especially if it's before 7.  We'll lay there for 30 minutes to an hour and watch cartoons so that I can take my time waking up!

Definitely NOT a morning person lol.
