I had my first ultrasound appointment today. Based on my fertility friend ovulation date, I should be 7w1d. I was temping and using ovulation tests, so I am very confident of my dates.
Well, I only measured 5w6d, and there was no heartbeat. Ultrasound tech said that there isn't a heartbeat until 6 weeks, so she wasn't necessarily concerned about the lack of heartbeat and thought that perhaps my dates were off. Once I explained that I knew my ovulation date was 6/4 and that I got my first positive pregnancy test on 6/16, she was less convinced that it was just that I ovulated late and my dates were off. If I was actually 5w6d, that would have put my ovulation date only about 3-4 days before my positive pregnancy test -- which seems really unlikely to me.
So, they sent me for blood work and scheduled me for another ultrasound next Wednesday. My doctor is supposed to call me tomorrow afternoon with the blood work results. I'm hoping for the best but not feeling optimistic.
