I also loved finding out the sex. I was soooo sure this was a boy. I was shocked to find out a girl. DH guessed girl all along. I think the best part is yet to come. ..When we announce the sex and name after she's born. Because I'm carrying so low pretty much everyone thinks boy. I can't wait to say our daughter is born!
I also have loved doing my weekly chalkboard. In the beginning it was exciting to know the baby was growing so much each week. Now I wonder if each one will be the last. I will love having that collection of photos to share with my daughter one day. Although my usual HDBD photo is just me, our youngest dog is almost always in each week's photos too. I've carried her like a toddler on my hip since she was a pup. I think she likes having an official bump to sit on :-)
My sister adopted the sweetest baby girl, she was born in Feb and she was able to bring her home right from the hospital. Because both of our daughters will be so close in age it's really brought us closer together the last few months. When my niece was just a couple months old she fell asleep on top of my bump after lots of fussing (her favorite spot to sit is still my bump even though is not so easy these days). My sister was busy in the kitchen making me homemade brownies and when they were done she brought one over- fresh and still warm from the oven with all of its chocolatey goodness. But what a dilemma I faced. Let it cool and get dry and crunchy but let the baby sleep? Eat the warm brownie but risk waking up the baby? Time for my first mommy problem solving solution. I put the plate on TOP of the baby's back and ate a perfectly warm and fudgey gooey brownie off of the plate that sat balanced on top of my niece's tiny back. My sister just shook her head and said "you're gonna be a great mom". Priceless. I don't have a pic with the brownie but this is my sweet niece, Marley.
Telling DD that we were pregnant. She was the first to know, and has been asking for a baby for over 2 years (she is 4.5 and we told her just after her 4th bday in November). We videotaped it & said "guess what, we have a surprise for you! What do you always ask for & want?" she knew immediately and got SO excited, saying "A baby?! You're giving me a BABY?!" It was adorable and awesome.
Telling her it was a sister. Everyone - DH & I included - thought it was a boy. This pregnancy is SO different in every way from #1. But DD knew all along it was a girl, she wanted a sister and that was that. She was THRILLED and has told everyone that she was always right & everyone else was wrong
I live in a different country than my family now, so it was a bittersweet coincidence that we had to travel back for my young cousin's funeral a few weeks after I found out I was pregnant. I was only 6 weeks along, but it was so good to be able to tell my family in person, and have some good news amongst the tragedy. Being able to experience their excitement in person was wonderful, as we live too far away for any of them to have been able to experience my pregnancy with me.
1) When we found out we were having a daughter. DH, my mom & I cried tears of absolute joy. Honestly, none of us had the slightest care if the baby was a boy or girl because we were just so thrilled to be pregnant again. But just knowing she was a girl kind of made it all real to us. We were overwhelmed with joy.
2) Attempting to rock DS to sleep with my giant pregnant belly! Lol. He'd sort of wrap himself around me & put his head on my belly to sleep. By the end of the pregnancy the 3 of us were stuffing ourselves into the recliner. Lol.
3) And I know @Jensavicci will show me the love on this one especially. I managed to drum with the band until the very last day before I went into labor. 9 months pregnant & still keeping the beats hot.
1. Telling our families. After 10 yrs of marriage and not sure about wanting a family in the early years no one was expecting us to make the announcement. Lots of tears and shouts of joy.
2. DHs reaction every time he feels kicks. He loves what he calls 'belly time'
3. Because of all the puppy love I have to AW my cat. His favorite spot is curled up next to my belly.
I'm not big on photos, mostly because I AM big.. But my favorite moments were in the morning before DH left for work and at night before we slept. We cuddled in bed and we would both have a hand on the belly and it was our first family cuddles. So special and sweet. I also loved going to our 3d ultrasound.
My favorite moments of a very difficult and stressful time in my life have been
1) BFP which was actually a phone call from my OB office saying that my bloodwork came back definitely positive since I was only 6w post-D&C and thought it was just residual hormones. I can remember exactly where I was standing at work when she told me my level was 4000 and there was no doubt I was pregnant. It was one of those fantastic "my life is about to change" moments.
And my next favorite moment 2) was at my baby shower, surrounded by all the fantastic women in my life who have seen me though this incredibly difficult road and been my biggest champion supporters through it all.
I really grew closer to and appreciated DS1 more. He is such a sweet, kind, & good kid. ..I really cherish the extra memories we made leading up to DS2's arrival. Especially snuggling before naptime every day for the last 2 months of my pregnancy. And now, I am so impressed with how well he's adjusted to the new addition.
Finding out I was pregnant with twins
Ds and our dog trying out the double stroller
My last night ever being pregnant - bittersweet.
This is one for me too. I've still got about 2.5 weeks to go and while I'm totally over it and ready to have this baby, it's a bittersweet time for me too knowing we are done.
1. Finding out its a girl! Made it so much more real for us both!
2. Finding out one of my best friends is pregnant and due in January. My two besties and I got engaged in the same year, married in the same 14 month period, and now we're all having babies together (my other best friend had her baby last August). It's so great to be able to share these life experiences with these two girls I've been best friends with since junior high!
3. And of course-- puppy cuddles!!

1) Telling DH we were expecting again! I ordered a new charm for my necklace and when it came in the mail, I said "oh check out the new charm I ordered!" It was two little baby feet with "#2" underneath. He unwrapped it and his look was priceless! Then we ordered a cute shirt for DD to wear on Christmas and didn't say anything to anyone. As my family came for dinner, it was fun to see how long it took them to notice her shirt! Some got it right away, some not for hours!
2) Finding out we were having another girl! We were very excited to have a little sister for DD1, even though she really wanted a brother!
3) I love how DD keeps saying how she loves my belly and my baby. She gives it hugs and kisses. I can't wait to see her in her "big sister" role!
Definitely finding out she was a girl! DH had to stay home with DS, so the tech put it in an envelope. We didn't do anything special to read the results...we were just standing at the top of the stairs, but I'll never forget the disbelief and excitement!
I also loved taking all the weekly photos Here's the week we found out she was a girl.
Mine is when we found out we're having a boy. I didn't care either way, but DH had his heart set on another boy. The look on his face when the tech told us was priceless, and he had the goofiest grin for the rest of the day. I don't have a picture of him when we found out, but this is pretty darn close.
I don't have a picture, but it was one night around 7 months in, when DH finally got Spencer to interact with him. He suddenly realized that his little boy was in there; and it was downright magical.
Our sex scan.. we had an elective with my parents in the room, and DH's parents on Facetime, and everyone was so excited, and DH just let out this big WOOP! even though he'd been pretending he didn't have a preference the entire time.
Also, every night when DH plays this hand crank music box to my belly, which he played with as a little boy:
And really, every time DH shows his excitement and tenderness over this little one. It was hard to convince him that a baby was in our future, and so seeing all of the emotions from him just make my heart melt.
I am loving reading all of these!!! And have def shared some happy tears over y'all's special moments. Here are a few of mine-- 1: getting the call from the fertility doc that I was for real pregnant. I had been told my chances of getting pregnant were tiny so after two plus years of fertility, that phone call was life changing. Even the doc got choked up. After hanging up, I flipped the camera on my phone around and took a picture of my own expression. Sorry for all the tears! 2: sex reveal. Because of our fertility struggles and such, after getting our news, we did not make it a big deal to share at all. Mainly just told immediate family, over the phone, and honestly my insecurities made me downplay my excitement. But revealing sex to my family was the first time I just let it out. And I was SO shocked it was pink balloons, not blue. First lady baby on both sides of the family! 3: Last one I'll make y'all read is telling my Papa (my grandfather) that we were naming our baby after my grandmother that passed away last year. They were the perfect example of love and my grandma was the most courageous person I know. I had such an open relationship with her and she was so supportive of us trying for a baby- she seemed to really believe it would happen. We tried for years to get pregnant and finally got pregnant just a few months after she passed. Telling my Papa that this baby will share her name and hopefully her strength and courage was a beautiful moment I'll always cherish. Eliana Teresa was born June 20th, and here is a pic of my Papa holding her. Sorry for rambling but this was a great chance to reflect on the beautiful parts of my pregnancy (which wasn't so pretty at times)! Also, no clue why the pics face so many different directions- damn mobile! Keep sharing, girls, I love reading these!
Wow, lots of favorites! I think my top favorite was finding out that I was actually pregnant. I wanted another baby so badly. I've had a couple false pregnancies as well as a miscarriage. It's just so frustrating and emotional when you've only got a certain amount of sperm to work with that you're counting on and it just doesn't work. Or it does works and it slips away. When DW got on board with me wanting this baby, I think it finally felt right. We cried so hard the night we found out because it just felt so perfect.
I loved finding out what we were having and sharing the news with our kids! I was so not expecting another boy lol I had my heart set on my girl name and because I wanted it so badly I just knew it was going to be a girl. But then one night I was thinking of boy names and Maximilian came to mind. At first I was shaken on it because it was so out of the ordinary. It's such a strong European name too. Then I went on either TB or BC to get middle name suggestions and someone mentioned Ace. So, I looked up both name meanings on a baby name app and it was so perfect. Together, it means "the perfect unity" :O it was a total omg moment. At that point, it had to be a boy! And it was and he is our perfect unity
Another favorite which wasn't necessarily pregnancy related was DW. After she cheated, I questioned everything she ever said to me. It felt like I'd been lied to for 16 years and to my face. But, I feel like she knows she made a bad decision and is truly sorry for it. She has been my rock (so cliche ) since we were young and I don't see that changing. Through this pregnancy and every one before this, she has treated me like a queen. She is the best mom and wife and she's the best friend I could ever have. She's my heart and nothing's gonna change that.
Yes! Woot woot! Lol I know you rocked those drums too! Now when are we doing a duet? I mean come on. You on drums, me on guitar? When is this happening!
First would be finding out we were pregnant. Hello honeymoon baby.
Second would be when we found out it was a girl. This may have been the best as it will be the first granddaughter on both sides but the first girl born in dh's family in over 5 generations.
Seeing my bff after 5 months of her being away at my baby shower. She's due september and another one of our friends is due beginning of october. bff is expecting a girl and our other friend is having a boy. We got a picture of us in order at my baby shower. they were both my bridesmaids at our october wedding.
1. showing up at my mom's house with DD wearing a shirt saying "I'm going to be a big sister" and watching her reaction, we did the same at MIL's house but my mom's reaction was the best
2. The look on DH's face when they said it was a boy priceless.
3. the first time DD felt him move, her reaction was hilarious.

1. DH's reaction when the u/s tech told us it was a girl: "She'll be my princess!"
2. Every time he says "Can I come lay next to you to feel the baby? Is she awake so I can feel?" (He stays up WAY later than I do, so I usually go to bed by myself.)
No pics, but absolutely finding out it was a girl! We thought we were done having kids and were more than thrilled with our two boys, so to get the chance to raise a daughter too is an amazing, unexpected surprise!
This thread melts my heart completely and makes me realize that I should remind myself to treasure these last few days or weeks.....
My top favorite moments are:
1. The look on Dh's face when he could first see lo kick and not just feel it. His eyes got huge and he jerked up to look at me and said "There! He's Right There!" Then every time we saw someone for like a week he would eagerly tell them "You can see him move now" and try and show every one my stomach. I didn't like that part of it but it was really cute how excited he was.
2. My second favorite was one night laying in bed and baby was kicking and I guess he kicked me kind of hard because I sighed. Dh looked up and said "Is he strong?" It kind of threw me but I told him yes I thought he was. Dh smiled so big and and just nodded his head. It was like his first proud daddy moment.
3. When I told the kids I take care of that I was pregnant. The three year old asked "but how do you KNOW a baby is in there?" and the five year old answered "Because her belly is a big bump!" And then the three year old said after some serious thought " ohhhhh one baby in your belly. Two in your chest?" That still cracks me up!!!
Mine are all about telling our family that we were pregnant.
1.) When we videotaped my mom reading the card we gave her that had a picture of the pregnancy test & she squealed in the restaurant. 2.) The shocked/happy look on my dad's face when we told him. 3.) The screams/looks on my family's face when my mom revealed at Christmas that we were pregnant (we couldn't be there so my sister recorded it for us)
And the best...4.) At Thanksgiving after we told DH's family, having his grandfather place his hand on my shoulder & pray for me and the baby. He passed away just 2 weeks later so that is a memory I will treasure forever.

Seeing how excited dh was that we were having a boy! Immediate nursery construction began that week, and he had a cute helper!
