Girl name opinions please!

We found out we are having a little girl. We have sort of settled on a name and I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are. The name is Scarlett Michaela.

It's a fine name. I've never liked Michaela, but that's personal preference. Scarlett is pretty, and they flow well together.

I love scarlett. SO voted it out (he is very opinionated and knocked out so many names lol). I just worry about the nn Scar. Ugh.

I like Scarlett. It's not a name you hear everyday and I love Gone with the Wind.

Agreed, I like Scarlett, not a big fan of Michaela but that's just personal preference. It's a good name

@JulieSC81‌ my husband actually brought that name up! I didn't like it much at first but after saying it a few times I'm loving it!! My sister has already started nick naming her letti lol. @JMU_Bride09‌ Michaela isn't a fave for me either it's more sentimental then my style. @Southernpeach80‌ my mom said the same thing! Except that she hated the name and I needed to watch gone with the wind before she's born to see why it's a bad choice. I told her in all honesty what movie isn't going to ruin a name for me!! Besides, Scarlett Johansen kicked ass in the Avengers movie!

I agree that you ought to watch GWTW though. Even though Scarlett is popular now, I think the Scarlett O'Hara reference is going to always come up because that is a classic. That doesn't mean I don't think you should use the name, but I think you should be informed of how many other people perceive the name/reference.

I don't hate Scarlett but I don't love it either (I know most people love it though) but I love Michaela. I wouldn't use it as a first name because of it's popularity now but love it as a middle name.

Scarlett sounds a bit affected and frilly for me. It's not that pretty of a word, IMO. Sorry! Michaela is more interesting but again, NMS.

I personally, love Scarlett. It was on my super short list. To share some feedback that I received, Scarlett was too strong w literary connotations (Scarlett O'Hara, The Scarlet Letter), had strong imagery (scarlet fever), and had potential for NN "Scar" (I love NN Letti and would have used that, who knows about classmates tho). Despite all of these criticisms, I still love the name.

Michaela is severely NMS, but if it has sentimental reasons, rock it.

I think it's a lovely combination. I'm not a fan of Scarlett, but that's just a style thing...no real reason. I am a fan of Michaela when spelled as you have.
