Potty Training Going pretty well

We decided to take our first stab at potty training even though it's a little early because of the long weekend.  With nursing DS, I knew I'd need DH's help.

We first introduced the idea Thursday when DH got home from work so she only had a few hours but it was pretty awful.  We almost gave up!  She didn't want to wear panties, she was super fussy about the whole thing, and didn't have any real success with the potty.  Luckily Friday went much better.  She didn't care about wearing panties and actually was excited to take them off and put them back on herself.  She had several good pees on the potty and very few accidents and then today she pooed on the potty!  

She still sprinkles in her panties sometimes before telling us she has to go and sometimes she cries while she goes, but she still tells us and runs to the bathroom so clearly she knows what to do.  Maybe she's just a little uncomfortable still going on the potty and that will get better with time.

Overall, very happy with it but man the first several hours I really didn't think we'd be able to do it!

Glad you're having some success! But I am shuddering at the word "panties", lol. That word gives me the heebie-jeebies!!

I always get funny looks when I tell people I hate that word. I'm so glad I'm not the only one!

LOL! Me too, I hear it in the voice of Eric Forman on the panties episode of 'That 70's Show'...

Congrats on your success so far! I think the only thing DD likes about the potty at this point is the Abby Cadabby book we got her.

Yep, she's pretty much trained I guess.  She doesn't really have any accidents.  She sprinkles sometimes before telling us she has to go but we had a big break through since she really isn't talking much yet.  She said "pee" to DH yesterday and then peed in the toilet, dry panties! haha

I really need to get on this with DD but am exhausted at the thought.  Good for you for tackling this!!

I'm certainly no expert, but if you have any questions, let me know.  We followed the 3 day potty training guide and it has worked great.  I have the ebook so if you want it, I can send it to you. We're only on the 4th full day and she has yet to have any accidents on me or any furniture..and today she hasn't even sprinkled in her panties so it's going great!

@crene84, I know that you don't know me, but I came to the board to see what other people are doing with potty training. Would you be willing to send me the e-book of the 3 day training? I introduced the potty seat to DS today and he actually used it twice. He has been showing signs of being ready for a while, but I finally decided to give it a whirl today...but I'm down to try anything to keep this up!
