Our plan is to go to the butterfly garden/insectarium but at the rate my ILs move, I'm wondering if we'll even make it out of the house today. My major accomplishment for today was shaving my legs so I could wear shorts and not look like a woolly mammoth.
We are on the 12 hour trek home from Michigan. DS is not happy in the car so it's not as pleasant as the ride out. We are going to stop soon for a break and then we have 3 hours left. Praying for no traffic in NY!
I had my big fun with my mom and DS yesterday at a water park and watching the fireworks. We watched from my mom's front yard so they weren't too loud and scary, DS loved them.
DS is staying with my mom for the weekend because DH and I both work. I think they are at the beach today. I'm trying not to be jealous. :P
At the river today. Nothing like relaxing on a tube eating a tub of blueberries. Going out to eat with H tonight and going to buy buy baby to get our stroller / carseat and pnp. Yay 20% off.
Tomorrow dad and H are painting the nursery and mom and I are sorting through the clothes from the shower to see what we have in what sizes. I need to know what I'm yard saying for!
We just made it home from our Suffolk VA fireworks show (different pants = only 1 pee break, not 4 like on the way down). DH is heading up to help with another show in Harper's Ferry WV tonight so I think I'll just be doing laundry & grocery shopping. Tomorrow I'm hoping to hit BRU or Great Beginnings to check out gliders.
We messed around with our stroller and car seat for the first time. I'm still trying to get comfortable with it, and have yet to even try to put the car seat in the car. lol
Stretch the giraffe was a good sport though. And the dogs were very curious.
DH and I spent this morning getting stuff done around the house. FIL came over with the riding mower to suck up a bunch of pine needles...it was good to get things done. We also put together the crib and cleaned up the nursery...the dresser is still in the garage b/c there's no way DH and I can carry that up the stairs lol.
Right now, we're grilling up some burgers and relaxing on the deck. :-)
Ok, I already posted earlier but I had to share this....since this is pretty random and made me laugh. I was going through everything my insurance company sent me with my breast pump and stumbled across this. I don't know who this "Mike" is, but I don't anticipate needing storage bags for him! Thanks Blue Cross I think you need to hire a proof reader.
We went to Cherokee and Cataloochee, about a 2hr drive,to see the Elk. The elk were reintroduced to Appalachia about 14yrs ago and we had never been out to try and see them. We got really lucky the elk there are fairly desensitized to people because of the large amount of people that come to look at them they came right out next to us.
I'm exhausted. My keurig broke. Stayed up too late. ::whine::
We are having a lazy, movie day.
Our's broke this morning too
I've gone through 2 Keurig's. They really should last longer than a couple of years so I refused to buy a 3rd.
I've been thinking if I want to buy another one or not. I had this one for 3 years, but that's even ridiculous for how much the darn thing was. I may just get an old fashioned pot haha. For now, I'm going to borrow my grandmas extra.

So will kohls. Also Keurig has phenomenal customer service. They replaced one of ours free of charge that we had for 2 years.
DH just took me to a locally famous ice cream parlor. We are moving to the west coast of Florida in a couple weeks, so my husband is taking me to all the local spots before we move. (He seems to think we won't be back for a long time, but his parents live here so we obviously will)

Ooooo good to know about Kolh's! My friend works at bbb and they replace so much stuff!
A big reason they stop working is the build up, esp if you have hard water. I run white vinegar through my monthly and it works great 2 years and counting.

I also wanted to throw my story in there. I thought mine was dead. It would say "ready to brew" and then nothing would happen. I did some sleuthing online for suggestions and one site said to leave it unplugged for 24 hours.
I felt stupid, but it worked. Not sure what your problems have been. Mine has been going strong for 3+ years despite this "hiccup".
I also run white vinegar through mine every couple months or so.
I went to Hobby Lobby, and I'm nursing a sunburn from yesterday. SO worked today. He spent the evening relaxing, and I spent it making a mobile for baby's room. Now, we are being lazy, and I hope the same for tomorrow.
We had a lazy day yesterday as DH wasn't feeling great. I think we are either swimming today or going to the airport to watch planes, let DS play on the playset and eat lunch! One of his favorite activities .
Chilling at mom's house, about to use her for her tub. We only have showers at my house. And let's face it. Sometimes you really need some candles, bubbles, and a good soak
I've had nothing but a handful of starbursts to eat so far today. That is all.
I had a pop tart, some watermelon, and 2 cookies for breakfast.
It is a pop tart and watermelon morning for me, too. Going to Bruegger's in a second for a ham, egg, and cheese sandwhich on an everything bagel. NOM.
OMG. I love Bruegger's...I grew up on it. My dad would take me on the mornings that he brought me to day care and I'd get a cinnamon raisin bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. For bfast, I've been obsessing over the Rio Grande wrap and the Skinny Zesty Egg White sandwich. There's one across the street from my work...it's dangerous

Freaked out on SO yesterday. Full on ugly sobbing about insurance/him finding a job/how unprepared we are for the baby to come plus how guilty I feel for being unable to work (disabled collecting SSI) and how if hes not looking for a job then he should at least be getting to stuff around the house (like putting together LOs crib which has been sitting in a box in our hallway for a month, or even just doing the dishes would make me feel a little better) and I thought I was getting through to him. Then after I calmed down enough that he didn't feel I was in immediate danger (I was crying so hard I could hardly breathe and needed my inhaler more than once) he went and took a 3 hour bath, came to bed and passed out. Thought we might see some improvement today but nope. He got up around midnight started playing his video game and went to sleep again around 9:30 this morning. I'm trying to remind myself why I'm with him but honestly it's getting harder to. This weekend has been a shitshow to say the least and I don't see it getting any better in the second half of today.

I just wanted to say I'm sorry and I know how frustrating it can be. We are by no means in the same situation, but I can relate and I can't imagine how beyond frustrated you are. It sounds like your SO is frustrated and scared and trying to find a way to escape those feelings instead of dealing with them. Have you tried couples counseling? It might help to have someone there as a buffer so you both can express your feelings in a safe, neutral place.

We haven't got that far yet. I didn't even realize how bad my anxiety had gotten until I started listing out everything we needed to to do which started a bit of panic/anxiety attack. He's not good with too much emotion and I think you are right that he's trying to avoid/escape his emotions too. It's just hard because he got laid off before we found out we were expecting and then we had to move but weren't sure where exactly we were moving to which put off looking for a job and now we've been here two months and I think we both had unreasonably high expectations about how easy finding a job would be. We just deal with it in different ways. Perhaps now that that is out of my system, we can try the calm talk I was trying for yesterday. I just need him to wake up.
