Re: ** Bible Study Check-In (late) **
1. Prayer Concerns: My parents had to put our family dog down this week. Prayers for my family and our precious little dog!
2. Praises: My vacation last week was wonderful! I am officially on summer break, and I have been making lists of things I need to get done each day. It helps me to feel productive! I am starting to panic with everything I need to get done before baby arrives.

It is important to remember that the company we keep can have a direct impact on our relationship with the Lord. We need to surround ourselves with individuals who uplift us and bring us closer to our faith, not those that tear us down.

Oh, man, am I late this week... Sorry ladies... M/S is picking up, while all the literature in the world is telling me it should start letting up around now... ugh...
1. Prayer Concerns: First for my grandfather. He has an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm that is about 7 cm in diameter. Normally, his doc would have operated at 5 cm, but because of my grandpa's age and other health conditions, they decided that he would most likely not make it through the surgery, so they would just monitor it. Now that it's grown 2 cm in 3 months, they've decided they have to operate. The surgery is difficult for a young person to go through, and my grandpa is nearing 80, so I'm really not sure how he'll fare through the surgery and recovery. I know he's a fighter, and after his double bypass surgery 18 years ago, his docs told him he might get 5 good years, but here he is 18 years later, still kicking and working his butt off every day. His surgery is scheduled for mid-July (I don't know the exact date yet), so prayers for him would be much appreciated.
2. Praises: We told most of our family this weekend, and they were mostly supportive. The boys know, too, and they couldn't be more excited! My youngest keeps coming up to me and sort of tickling my tummy, saying "hi baby". Just about the cutest thing ever.
3. Read, Study, & Comment on: Proverbs 13 (ESV)
Verse of the Week: Proverbs 13:20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
I think this verse applies to both physical and eternal issues. The entire chapter is about how fools and sinners will get into trouble and suffer harm, etc., and how the wise and righteous are honored and rewarded. When we keep our eyes on God, when we focus on Him and His plan for our lives, and we surround ourselves with other people who are doing the same, we will reap the benefits not only here on earth, but also for eternity in Heaven.
