Formula Feeding

Bottle warmers or formula makers?

Does anybody use one that they would recommend? I am considering the Baby Brezza but the reviews don't seem too great. I am also looking at the Boon Orb bottle warmer.

We have the Dr. Brown's formula pitcher too, but no outside baby yet. :) I'm glad to hear it works as well as it looks like it does!

  • I use a cuisinart warmer. I love it! I don't have a formula mixer but I have used blender cups (bought at GNC or I've seen them at walmart) that we already had and they work well. but my dd can't have powdered formula anymore, only the premade stuff. she was spitting up and very gassy from powder even when pre-mixed :( it's so much more expensive now!! ugh!
  • We had a Baby Brezza gifted to us. I would not have bought it for myself but we have been VERY grateful for it during 3am feedings. I was wary of the reviews I read but so far we are 6 weeks in and no problems- but we are diligent about wiping it down/cleaning it on the schedule they recommend so I think that makes a difference. My biggest complaint is that you DO lose a lot of formula during the monthly cleaning which is frustrating b/c our formula is extra expensive since we buy the organic stuff. If it's not the middle of the night and DS is at a growing phase that's between the measurements the Brezza does then we pour what we don't need into a bottle for later.
So far DS is still not fussy about room temp or cool bottles, but he does get tummy problems if we pull straight from the fridge!

  • So I bought the Dr. Brown's pitcher and warmer. The pitcher makes the formula too bubbly no matter how slowly I mix it. I ended up making formula in a quart sized mason jar and just using the pitcher to pour the formula into the bottles because it's a PITA to pour from the jar! The warmer works great - just wish it worked faster. Takes about 5 minutes using the bottles I have when taken straight from the fridge. May return one or both - not sure yet. Good to try new things, though!

Quoting myself, how fancy! Outside baby is 5 days old now and we are already in love with this pitcher. We don't seem to be encountering bubbles with it -- we're using Similac Advance, maybe it depends on brand? We do have a bottle warmer, but we haven't used it yet; the first night she was home, in the middle of the night, I gave her her bottle cold from the fridge without thinking, and she sucked it down like it weren't no thing, so I guess she's not picky about temperature. Woot!

  • We also have the Dr. Brown's pitcher and love it :) We mix up just a day's worth of formula, then let it sit for 5 minutes for any bubbles to dissipate before we pour it into bottles to put in the fridge. We also use the Munchkin Bottle Warmer/Cooler which someone got us. It seems to work alright. LO is okay with room temp bottles, but doesn't like straight from the fridge.
