Hi there. I'm 19 week pregnant with my second child, and for the past few weeks I have had a resting heart rate that falls between 106-120. When I stand or move around at all it will jump up to the 140s. I have been seen in the emergency room twice seeking help for this. Both times blood work was drawn, my legs were checked for blood clots and I had an ekg. Each time I was told I have Tachycardia, and just to follow up with my OB. My levels are all fine, no blood clots, and I've never had any problems with my heart before this. My OB has scheduled an echogram for me, but because I live in such a rural area, I will not be getting the results back for a few weeks and I'm just totally freaking out.
I have anxiety disorder and used to have panic attacks where it would feel like I was having a heart attack and seriously - finding out I have a heart issue is my biggest fear ever! I bought this little thing that you put on your finger and it reads your heart rate and oxidation level, and I kind of watch it all day. Once in a while I am sleepy my heart rate will get down to the 80s, but as soon as I move or roll over in bed it spikes right back up to the 120s/130s. But mostly it's a constantly over 100.
I am so scared I am really not able to eat or sleep normally and I'm afraid to move even a foot from my bed. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this before and if so, did everything work out ok? Was your doctor able to get things under control, and also does it go away after the baby comes?
Has anyone else had something like this happen to them?
Re: Resting heart rate 106-120??
My sister who does not have tachycardia, when pregnant ended up at the ER twice because she was tachycardic but she was told she was fine and if can happen during pregnancy and she hasn't had it since!
Sorry for the long reply, I hope it helps a bit. Listen to your doctors and try not to worry! Keep me posted on how you are doing!
