So, we decided on our girl name (thanks for all the suggestions y'all!) and now we're working on a boy name. The middle name would be Foster, after my grandfather. We used to be really like the idea of Conor as a first name... but now we're really good friends with a guy who is in a band with a dude named Conor, and we feel like it would just be really awkward and weird since we hang out with that friend all the time. Also, we met this friend actually because we went to one of their concerts, so that makes it even more uncomfortable! We never really had our hearts set on it, so it's not a big deal, but now we're trying so hard to find something else we like! So far we've come up with:
Names that we mostly agree on:
Judah Foster (nn Jude)
Remy Foster
Elias Foster (nn Eli)
Names he likes that I'm not super sold on:
Atlas (I don't know, it just doesn't sound like a name to me.)
Alastair/Alistair (I don't like the nickname Al.)
Names that I like but HE'S not super sold on:
Levi (he played soccer with a Levi once in high school and thought the dude was a boob. I tell him, "Honey, that was like 10 years ago!)
Jonas (he doesn't like the idea of Joe as a nickname, which, honestly, neither do I. But I still love the whole name!)
My family has a pretty long tradition of biblical names (we even have a Moses for goodness sake!) and we wouldn't mind picking something in that vein even though neither my partner nor I are particularly religious anymore. What do you guys think of any of these?

I am really happy to hear that! A lot of the names I really like have come from books, and I picked up Jonas from The Giver (which I think I need to force my SO to read so he gets why I like the name so much!)
I think you'd be just as safe with Jonas!
I love Remy but don't think I'd make that choice personally; Love Eli and Alastair as well!!

And if you don't like a potential nickname, don't use it. My daughter is Juliette and we had a couple people offering up nicknames like JuJu, Julie, Jules, etc and we politely declined. She has never gone by a nickname, we use her full name always and so does everyone else. Hope that helps a little! Good luck!
