LO is doing her first sleep over with my parents tonight, and I was totally doing great with the idea until this morning!
She's with my mom 3 days a week so is totally comfortable there. She and I stayed the night earlier this week and she did great in the mini crib my parents have. I'm dropping her off this morning, then leaving work early to stop by and feed her before heading home to change to go out, and we'll pick her up by 830 tomorrow morning. So it'll be like 18 hours. And we're going to see Billy Joel at fenway tonight... literally a once on a lifetime opportunity.
Rationally, I know everything is going to be fine, given all of the above. But I'm so worried she won't sleep, or will cry for hours, or I don't know what! Plus I'll miss my little bug!
Tell me pretty stories about how much your los love sleeping over their grandparents please!

Oh honey! This will be so nice for both of you it was so hard on me the first time ds1 spent the night with my parents but it was sooo nice. He didn't have the same routine he had with me but my parents found their own "normal" with him. He is now 4 and LOVE sleep overs with nana and pappaw.
Enjoy your time and k ow that your lo will be fine
I know its hard but enjoy your free time! The first time weedy LO with my parents I was a nervous wreck...he now calls and asks to sleep over. Plus, I feel like he gets waaaaay more attention there beause they're not doing it every day. Have fun!
It's going to be great! You did great prep.
As an aside...super jealous you are going to see Billy Joel at Fenway! I saw the tickets for sale a while back and really regretting I didn't buy them. Hope the weather clears up for you!
The tix were my "push present"... we both hate the term, so it's mostly a joke, but MH did say that after being pregnant and keeping a small one alive for 4 months, I was going to deserve a night out. ;-) We've seen him in concert a couple times before and he's absolutely our favorite act to see live.
Right now it's looking like at least the rain should hold off during the show!

I know how hard it feels to drop her off for the night, but once you are out, you'll realize that she is fine and you will have such a great time! Enjoy yourself!
(((hugs))) Go have a great time! LO is already comfortable with your mom since she watches her 3 days a week. I know it is hard but it is good for you and LO. I had to take DH to the ER when DS1 was a baby and he had to stay with a friend who had only cared for him a few times. It was his first overnight away from me and though I was upset and nervous it turned out fine. It is MUCH better to have LO stay with your mom overnight for a planned event vs. an emergency. Before you know it she will be begging to go spend the night with your parents! I mentioned in the random thread that DS1 is spending the next 4 days with my parents "on vacation". He was so excited!
Lo slept at my mothers house for the first time last weekend while dh and I went to a wedding and stayed at a hotel. He was totally fine with his grandma!
