I hate when people don't bag their own groceries. Of course, if there's a legit reason (juggling a crying baby, handling multiple LOs, physically unable, there's a bagger there for that job, etc.), I get it. But when people are just yapping away on the phone or, worse yet, doing absolutely nothing while the cashier bags everything and a long line stretches out behind them, I nearly lose my mind.
I'll up this to say that if you're checking out, you should get off your damn cell phone. Have some courtesy and say hello to your cashier. After far too long in retail, that was my main customer peeve.
It was mentioned yesterday. But that week long FFC thread is overwhelming. I like it better when it's just a Friday thing...
I sort by first post, not last, so I have to keep going back for it. I don't like threads that are meant to go on for days because I always lose track of them.
I love bagging groceries. I feel like I'm playing tetris, trying to fit things in the bags in an orderly logical way. We normally bring our own bags, which are HUGE, so it's like a game to fit everything in.

<--nerd!!
You are my grocery store soul mate. Bagging groceries is an art. I flip if the frozen stuff isn't bagged together and separate from the just refrigerated stuff. I like each bag to be an appropriate size and filled to a proper capacity.
And, I like the belt loaded a certain way to facilitate easier bagging. DH knows to just step out of my way when we check out.
YES THIS! I sort the items by type (frozen, produce, canned, etc) and then bag them in their correct categories. My H also just stands back and lets me go nuts.
I also hate hate hate when cashiers only put like 2 items in a bag. I'll go behind them and fix the nonsense.

I'm super confused by this. At most of the stores near me the customer isn't given access/the option to bag their own groceries. The only places I can think of are self checkouts and discount grocery stores.
I have zero interest in the World Cup. Like you could actually take all the fucks I don't give, ball them up, and actually play soccer with them.
DH and I live in a world without soccer. The World Cup comes around and we're like "Why is this being talked about? No one watches soccer." Then I come here and people are talking about it and I'm like "Maybe it's an East Coast thing.."
@RosiePeare Northern California. The closest we usually get is loading the bags into the cart. Do you have access to bag your own things at places like Walmart and Target too?
@RosiePeare I'm from IL and we don't have the option other than discount grocery stores either.
ETA: My hometown grocery store even has a specific person that bags the groceries and then will bring them out to the car and load them. I've always declined but it's really helpful to the elderly.
Can I ask why you sort by first post rather than last post? I much prefer the sort by last post and most people seem to prefer it that way so I was wondering why you preferred it the other way.

Not sure. It's what I got used to when I first started and Im a creature of habit.
I'm not as picky as H about bagging. I usually just let the cashier do it, but do get annoyed with them when they put too many boxes and the bags tear, make the bags too heavy, or smash bread.
Our smaller local store has designated baggers that will take your groceries out to the car for you. Target has no self-checkout lanes and the cashier does the bagging. Meijer has cashiers bagging, or, you can go to the two different kinds of self-checkout lanes. One is for 10 items or fewer; the other is doing all your groceries by yourself--but in that line, it really helps to have one person scan groceries and one person bag, otherwise the next person in line is going to get all up in your ass and their groceries will get mixed in with yours in the bagging section. Because no manners.
I also hate when people say they're standing ON line. no you are not. you are standing IN line as you are physically in a line. if you were standing on line, you'd be on a line. it always makes me think they're talking about the internet but it seems to be a north jersey thing around here. it drives me insaneeee
Also on the topic of bagging... Reusable bags are genius and I'm shocked more people don't use them. They hold more and are easier to carry into the house. At least for me.
Wahoo! Just got an email that my next stitchfix box is on its way!
OMG the World Cup is killing me. My is a huge soccer fan, he always plays twice a week, and must watch every single game. It's exhausting! I'm not a sports fan really at all so I truly do not understand the big deal.
ETA I forgot this was UO thread and not randoms. Thus the stitch fix comment.
I hope to create a real siggy but first I need some sleep!

Omg this is one of my biggest pet peeves. I also hate when people say 'on accident'... it should be 'by accident'. It bugs the shit out of me.
I work with a guy who says "ideal" instead of "idea". As in "What a great ideal, C12H22O11!"
It makes me twitchy and takes everything I have not to scream out "IDEA! It's a MFing IDEA!" in the middle of telecons.
OK - Here's one that's probably truly a UO, at least on this board. I wish we had a Facebook group. I find mobile bumping to be hard and I like the mobile FB apps and notifications. Much easier to keep up with what's happening!
Or I wish I had Bumpies as FB friends. That would be good, too!

I thought I was alone. Everyone I know says "on line" and it drives me nuts! You're getting into a line. You are not standing ON a line.

It's not just Jersey. It's everywhere and it's awful.
I actually don't think I've ever heard anyone say this. What a weird thing to say!

I've never heard it either but it would drive me insane, I think... Except I totally say "on accident".
At Wegmans, they bag immediately after scanning the item. If I were to do it, I'd have to step into the cashier's area. Sometimes I use self checkout, and of course I do my own bagging.
I don't want to support Honest Co. because of the crusade they went on against Honest Toddler. Honest Toddler is awesome and wasn't doing anything wrong.
@golfergirl08 No, they are not at all associated, which was actually the foundation of the dispute. Honest Co. make eco-friendly products. Honest Toddler is a super funny twitter (now FB and an actual book) blogger. Purely satirical humor.
Honest Co. tried to make Honest Toddler withdraw her trademark application, saying people would get confused and they were trying to "protect their brand." It was all ridiculous and I side with Honest Toddler in that they were trying to bully her for no real reason.

That was pretty ridiculous. I'd boycott if LOs skin didn't like them so much!
I was really upset that my first pp visit from AF came but now I am happy she is here. I feel more "normal" and hopefully less anxious like I need to POAS. I'm hoping the return of AF helps my libido! woot woot <:-P
I'm super annoyed with people who comment on LOs skin color. Like how fair he is or how dark he is than someone else in the family. I understand people commenting on a baby's look all the time but how does ski color matter?
@clb2196 I hope you enjoyed every single second of wegmans bliss!!! I liked shopping at Meijer and Schnuck's when I lived in the Midwest, but I love Wegmans!
Re: Facebook Is FB really conducive to this kind of community? It seems like it would be harder to follow even though the app might be easier to use. I'm not in a large FB group though, so maybe I'm mistaken. I've no problems being FB friends with bumpies, but I like this format.

I sure hope this isn't a UO, I think it is the laziest thing ever! When I was 100 weeks pregnant no one bagged for me (I work at TJ's) and I was beyond annoyed!!
Re: Unpopular opinions
Promise?
I am sick of Target. Like, don't enjoy going there at all anymore.
Suddenly I feel super lazy :-\"
This is me too. I kind of forgot it existed tbh.
