Right now my 2-week-old is an angel during the day, he just eats and sleeps and usually I have to wake him after 3 hours to feed. But at night he is fussier and doesn't always sleep between feedings and wakes up after 2 hours. How do I fix his day/night confusion? Does he need awake time activities already? Should I not let him fall asleep while nursing?
Totally normal - while in the womb, babies are lulled to sleep by our daytime movements and are more active at night.
I would just keep things nice and bright and "noisy" during the day and dark and quiet at night. He will sort it out shortly. There's not really any activity to do with a 2 week old aside from holding them/talking to them. Plus really they have very little awake time at that age.
I'm personally a HUGE fan of nursing to sleep - mama nature made nursing sleep inducing for a reason so I take full advantage It's never prevented my babies from sorting out days and nights fairly quickly.
Remember it's also very normal for a newborn to wake every 2 hours at night - tiny tiny tummies!
