Urine v. amniotic fluid---sorry gross

I am a FTM trying to determine what is going on with the increased vaginal discharge. I have never had any this pregnancy or my entire life.
It's difficult for me to tell what is on my underwear the last two days: urine, sweat, or an amniotic leak. I am going to call doc tomorrow, but I guess my question is this: can a person leak and then stop and then leak again instead of a water breaking all at once, or is anyone else peeing their pants?

I asked my doctor the same thing about urine vs amniotic fluid and he said that if it was really amniotic fluid that it would most likely not stop and if I was really concerned to put on a pad for an hour and see what happened. Plus, urine has a really distinct smell. I do not have a very strong bladder to begin with and I do pee when I sneeze and cough sometimes but there have been a few times this pregnancy that I have felt wetness and have been a little concerned but they have turned out to be nothing.

I used to worry about this all the time during my first pregnancy because I had so much watery discharge and my panties were always so wet towards the end. But it was just discharge. This pregnancy it's even worse because I am also so sweaty and hot now, but I'm not worried because know it is normal because of last time. I asked me dr last time and she said you would know, and also if it was filling a pad then to call. I used a panty liner all the time near the end. It sucks but it's most likely totally normal discharge. Never hurts to call your dr for peace of mind though.

I have a ridiculous amount of discharge. If I don't wear some kind of protective barrier my panties would be constantly soaking wet. It's a combination of thick white goopy stuff and extremely thin watery stuff for me, and it's been that way for months. Not saying that you shouldn't check with your doctor, but it could easily be something totally normal.

I agree with the previous posters.  Also, I've noticed, personally and with birth clients, that amniotic fluid smells a lot like semen (sorry if TMI).

I've had some thin watery discharge too. The doctor tested to make sure it wasn't amniotic fluid. It wasn't. It's very sparatic when it happens which I find strange.

I leaked amniotic fluid with my first. It has a very distinct smell not like urine or discharge. I can't really explain the smell but it is totally different. I only noticed leaking for about an hour until my water broke completely.

The vag sludge has been out of control since 2nd tri. I thought for sure I was leaking amniotic fluid at one point, but it was just really watery discharge. I also drip a little pee each time after I pee - I pull my pants up and as I'm washing my hands I can feel a little pee or discharge drip out. It's disgusting.

I had a high leak in my bag of waters with DD the day before I went into labor. It felt and smelled a lot different than the rest of the vag/panty wetness I've experienced. For me, it was like a half a cup of liquid spilled out at once, faster than I pee. And it smelled...maybe kind of sweet? Not like pee.

When your water breaks, you're gonna know--its a lot of fluid, and it doesn't stop.  Mine broke at 38 weeks last time, and I wore depends to the hospital (after soaking through 2 pads in about 30 minutes).  At 37 weeks I had thought my water broke and made DH take me to the hospital at 4 am--turned out it was just my bladder.
This time around I've been having a sweet-smelling discharge for weeks.  I just wear a pantyliner all the time.
