Baby Arthur's Birth Story (self report tummommy)

Arthur Wade, 7lbs 15oz, 21in, born 11:01am on June 14.

Long version:
After having posted that I did not want to be induced, I called the office in an act of desperation to see if I could in fact get on the schedule to have my labor started. This was on a Thursday I believe and I was turned down because my doc was out of town and they won't let you schedule with the on-call doctor. So I resigned myself to what I figured could be weeks more of the horrid pre-labor crap I had been having for 3 weeks already.
Friday the 13th, I decided to give the spinning babies exercises a try; it's not like it would prolong anything, so I figured I had nothing to lose and did several sets while at work. I went home and woke up to pee around 1:00am and was so tired of everything and not being in labor that I didn't even fight when SO came in 30 minutes later (normally would have raised Hell about him coming in so late).
3:30am: dead asleep, I felt a "pop" then gush and said to myself, "oh shit, if that's blood I'm in trouble!" Made it to the edge of the bed without leaking on it and when I stood up to check it out in the bathroom, all Hell broke loose and I drenched the floor with every step I took. I was ecstatic!! I turned on the light and sure enough, it was clear and I damn sure couldn't stop it. The only thing that did slow the flow was assuming a sumo squat position. I tried to call to SO, but he didn't hear me; instead, DD woke up and freaked a little so I soaked a bit more of the floor to get him up and help her out of bed (luckily we have all wood floors). She slipped in one of the puddles and then demanded I let her potty so I leaked more. At this point we had gone through at least 10 towels. I wanted to let her sleep a bit longer but the contractions got painful pretty fast so we decided to go ahead and go. Dropped DD with grandmother and I was admitted at the hospital around 5:00am at a 3cm. Contractions were painful but only every 15 minutes or so, so pitocin and epidural were started. By 10:15 I felt the urge and the nurse checked to confirm that we were about to have a baby! I think someone shut off the epidural at that point; I felt WAY more than when I delivered DD. however, I will say that recovery has been easier and it's true that once baby is out, all pain vanishes instantly (at least for a few hours). Arthur entered the world at 11:01am, a much speedier process the second time around. We are absolutely in love and my days feel like they only have 6 hours in them now, which is why it has taken so long to check back on here. Congrats to everyone else who finally made it to the announcements page, we have some beautiful June babies!!
