1st appt

I walked in to get my pregnancy confirmed. They took some blood. They also wanted to do the glucose test today. I couldn't because I had to get back to my kids and couldn't wait an hour. Is that normally given the first visit?
Dr. was really friendly, which I like. I'm not sure if we are sticking with these people or going to a birth center(which I would prefer but they've raised their prices). I have an ultrasound scheduled for next Monday, can't wait! She gave me a prescription for progesterone just in case, which i'm thankful for. All around, good visit.

    Eh. Kinda weird to do the glucose test at the first appt ...esp when you didn't even get an ultrasound first. Actually that's very odd....

    That's what I thought, @babeRN101. I didn't remember it so early. I don't feel bad now for putting it off.

    Have you had GD with any of your previous pregnancies? Maybe they are being proactive?

    nope, I haven't. They made it sound like routine 1st apt stuff.

    I had to do one on my first appointment because I have a family history of diabetes. My midwife says it is routine if you have a family history or if your BMI is over a certain number.
