Yesterday I posted about stink in my ON inserts. I didn't think it smelled like ammonia and haven't smelt it on any other diapers. He was on antibiotics for an ear infection until yesterday and had been dealing with a rash which I thought the antibiotics were causing and was able to get it cleared up for about 5 days. But since it is back and the stink yesterday is making me wonder.

Redness on the skin but not in the folds makes me suspect some kind of contact rash. Redness in between the buttcheeks makes me suspect something dietary.
Keep track of what your son is eating, if you have been introducing solids. You might see a pattern emerge. Watch out for acidic foods and foods that tend to be more allergenic, and perhaps hold off on introducing them until your child's digestive system is more mature. Also if you are BF and continue to BF, what you eat can also affect the composition of your BM and irritating things can pass through that way.
I missed your earlier stink post but stink can indicate that there is something residual in your diapers that is contributing to the rash. Could be ammonia, could be detergent residue. What is your wash routine? What detergent are you using? What kind of diapers?
I think that might be yeast? There are some spots that look like they are about to blister a bit.
Being on antibiotics can cause yeast if you don't pair it with probiotics.
I thought with bumps there were usually bumps, or is this just a most but not all the time symptom? Will yeast start looking a little better with just air and frequent changes before flaring back up? He is looking a little better this morning...

We are doing BLW, so while he really hasn't actually eaten any food as his poop is very much BF poop still. I didn't think I had eaten anything new, but I will keep track and monitor the rash.
Wash routine is Full Warm Wash cycle (no detergent)/Full Hot Wash cycle (with BG detergent)/extra rinse every two days. I also add 1/4 cup bleach once a month with an extra hot quick wash rinse.
I checked during the initial wash and there were no suds. I usually use one scoop of detergent, but there were no suds when I checked during the main wash so maybe I'm not getting them clean

I thought yeast usually shows up in the folds (among other places)? Still, since baby has been on antibiotics I would think it wouldn't hurt to give some probiotics as a preventative measure.

Thanks for the info, I will grab some today.

Re: Ammonia Rash/burn? [PIP]
It does seem to get better throughout the day. Right now I would say it looks slightly better than than the pic.
It could be acidic poop, that was thought it was last week. But with the stink and my fear of ammonia, I second guessed myself today.
Lots of naked time, frequent diaper changes, baking soda baths, and coconut oil were are go tos last time.
