1st Trimester

When will nausea start to go away?

I'm 7 wks 5 days and nauseous all the time!  It's only been bad for about a week so far, but I'm already hoping it will end soon.  Don't think I'll survive another 5 weeks if it stays this bad!  I feel guilty because I know I'm not eating enough or as well as I should be.  But food is so grosssss!  blegh.

When was your worst week for nausea and when did it start getting better?

I'm 12 weeks, 3 days and mine JUST went away a few days ago. Everyone is so different though. I have a friend that had MS until she delivered.

  • I had mine until 18 weeks :(... I will tell you though, I became a pro at puking. I knew when it was going to happen, I'd do my thing and move on. I know it sucks, but trust me it gets better!!

The worst was around 13-14 weeks, twice a day.

  • Hmmm, I had my heart set it on it for sure going away after the first trimester. While I hope that happens, it is good for me to realize it may take a bit longer...I am at week 9 at its the worst its been so far. Its good to have this message board for support!!
  • Its different for every person and every pregnancy. The average answer is beginning of 2nd trimester

  • My worst week by far was 10 weeks. I couldn't even stand up without having to get sick. Now, I'm just short of 12 weeks and haven't even had to take a Zofran for several days. Feeling sooo much better

  • Mine cleared up around 14 weeks with my first.  It was a little longer with my second (maybe 16 weeks?), but I had mild nausea throughout to the end of second tri.

  • My worst was from weeks 7-11. However, I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and I still have nausea. For some of us, it stays the entire pregnancy.

  • I'm at week 9 too and this has been by far the worst for nausea and fatigue. Hope it goes away soon for both of us!
  • Thank goodness mine went away around week 9! It was bad for maybe 3 weeks..I got ridiculously lucky! OCCASIONALLY I get nauseas or even throw up. But once I do what I gotta do, I feel 100 times better and go about my day normally. I really really really got lucky and know I can never complain with my amount of morning sickness.. I hope you feel better super soon. When my nausea was bad I found drinking juice (I drank orange juice or cranberry) helped a lot..I don't know if it was the sweetness or the cold, but it was always exactly what I needed. Also mints help...and avoid nasty odors if you can. Even going near the unwashed dishwasher used to get me sick! So it is a great excuse to make your hubby do dirty laundry and dishes ;) HAHA! Feel better asap
  • Never.

At least that is what it feels like for me right now!! It's so intense. I'm not even as far along as you but, it's constant and all day and seeming like a lifetime. I had nothing with my son so this is really giving me a reality check for sure!

  • It's different for everyone. Mine is still lingering and I'm nearing 22 weeks. The worst weeks for me were between 7 and 15 weeks.
  • Good question. Im 9 weeks and 2 days and im ridiculously nauseous all day everyday. I need to find home remedies to soothe it alittle.
  • Mine stopped at 10 weeks I figured out that I needed to eat something every two hours. Hope you feel better soon.
  • Idk about the nausea but maybe someone can tell me when I'll stop shitting my brains out every morning immediately upon waking.
  • Mine was horrifying from weeks 8 - 11. Now in my 11th week it is still there but nowhere nearly as bad.....for now.

  • Like other members have said the second trimester is usually when it stops, however if I waited too long to eat I would feel nauseous (despite being in the 2nd or 3rd trimester).

So far I haven't been nauseous, but its still early.
