WWYD - April & Other Names

Hello all, we're not expecting but we like to discuss names for a hypothetical third child.

One of my current favorite girl names is April, but I realized if we happened to get pregnant on our next cycle the baby would be due in the month of April. Would you still use it, or would that be weird?

Other favorite girl names, just for fun, are Bianca, Hazel, Lola and Olivia (DH's fave). Our boy favorites are August, Flynn, Harvey and Leo.

June is very pretty! I guess I like month names, May is nice too : )

Or other similar type names: Lilly, Violet, Robin... I'm thinking springtime, feminine

Meh.  It's a little weird, but there are way weirder things.  It's like a 2 on the weirdness scale for me.  If you both love it, I don't think you should toss it.

I am an April baby, and that was the name my dad fought hard for.  He lost.

I had two past co workers named January and November. (Different jobs) November occasionally went by the nn Nova or Novie.......

Not vetoed, just not as high up the list. We do really like Bianca as well though : )

yeah definitely. I'm an April, but not born in April. I still get asked this question all the time. annoying, but not life ending. i say "nope" and just continue on haha.

OP if you like the name, go for it! I'm completely biased but this April gives the name  :-bd

I know a June born in June. At first, I gave it a little bit of a side eye, but she was due in July and came early. The parents had the name picked out and decided to use it anyway. I think it's fine.

I like Bianca and Leo from your list.

The reason I'm not a big fan of month/season names is that if April is born in April then I think it is a little cheesy, but if she's born in say, December, then it doesn't make any kind of sense at all. Either scenario is not good IMO.

That said, I knew a really wonderful woman named April who was just as cheery and springy and joyful as one would fine the month of April to be. I think April might be the only one of these names I actually like.

I love April, but it was one of the many that DH vetoed. I say go for it!

I love month names; Mae and June are on my short list.

Although, I just don't like April. I think because it seems dated to me.

If you like it and baby is born in April I would still use it. Some people may think it's cheesy but others would think it weird to have a December baby named April. I think it's a lose/lose situation.

I much prefer Bianca and Hazel.
