OT: T&P request.

A good friend of mine is in The CCU after having surgery Monday evening to insert a drain to release a huge amount of fluid off her heart that had completely crushed her left ventricle.

She hasn't been feeling well for a while and went to the ER last week with chest pain headache and sweating/fever. They sent her home saying it was most likely a sinus infection, but Monday morning she blacked out, and went back to the ER where they found the fluid on her heart. They are assuming that it was caused by a viral infection.

They drain has to stay for at least 5 days, and they will not know for at least a few days if there was any damage done by the pressure that was not resolved when the pressure was released, tht would need more surgery to fix.

She was doing well, except for very sore because the drain had to go through her breastplate, but this afternoon her original symptoms returned- headache, fever, and sweating and they have called in an infectious disease specialist to see if they can determine exactly what is causing this and try to stop it.

She is a 27 year old SAHM abd himeschooler, and has SIX children, the youngest is 4 months old. Her H says that she is only worried about her kids through all of this.

Thought and prayers would really be appreciated for her and her family!!

  • oh my gosh! I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I'm also 27 and I can't even imagine going through something like that, especially with a young family. T&P for her and her family for a quick diagnosis and speedy recovery!
