I went in for my 2nd ultrasound yesterday and at the start of the appointment I thought for sure I was going to be sick. As people are waiting you see the 2 or 3 ultrasound techs going in and out with files and the first person that I see is the guy that i saw when I found out about our loss the last time. It was obviously a very traumatic experience but he didn't even say sorry through the whole thing. So anyways when I saw him grab the next file I just about lost it. Sure enough he came out 5 min later and called my name. I am very happy to say that my experience with him was completely different this time and we have a healthy bean measuring 5 days ahead of the original EDD. I got to see and hear the heartbeat, it was the first time that I have ever gotten to hear the heartbeat. I lost it at that point and started crying, such a feeling of relief. I even got to see it moving around a little bit. I also had my first ob appointment afterwards and she says that everything looks great. I go up again the second week of July for my next appointment.
I am still a little confused about the baby being 5 days ahead and not sure what date to use. My first ultrasound at what I thought should have been 7 weeks 3 days the baby measured at 7 weeks 2 days (which I know is no big deal) so they ultrasound tech moved my EDD back 2 days to Jan 22nd. Now this time around I should have been 8 weeks 6 days and measured 9 weeks 4 days with an EDD of Jan 15th. My provider says that the Jan 20th (what I thought from the start) EDD goes more with when I got my procedure done but because the ultrasound tech measured multiple times and it was all the same we are going to go with Jan 15th for now. So I guess my question is for your own calculations would you move your date up or leave it where it was for now? Thanks ladies!

This one was measuring 6 days ahead of LMP date on his first scan at 6 weeks. At almost 20 weeks he's right on target with the LMP EDD. I've learned with DS that the scans will show different things - unless it's 2 weeks or more off at the first growth scan (6 weeks or so), I've read most don't change EDD dates.
With DS, his EDD based on LMP was 5/17. At the first scan, the tech told me 5/11 (which is supposed to be most accurate). My doc said they don't change it unless it is two weeks or more off at the first scan. At the NT scan, the tech told me he was ahead and at that point it would make him 5/7 (DH and FILs b-days are 5/6 so they were thrilled). At the anatomy scan the tech said he was measuring 5/5. So he was ahead the whole time. He was a big baby - 9lbs, 21.5 inches - but he chose to hang out until 5/23 anyway which was way past his LMP EDD anyways.
