The situation: A bracket to the drip pan from our water heater snapped and leaked water that has come through the ceiling. It is in the attic. Our ceilings are two story as the stairs go up to several bedrooms. My son's room is at the top of the stairs where the dry wall will be removed today, exposing the attic to the top floor (and rest of the house since it is open concept). About a 5 foot section right outside Tate's room.
Where does he sleep tonight? He is 6.5 months, and we just got him in a pattern of taking naps in his crib, and staying in his crib all night.
1) His own room with the door closed.
2) Pack and play that currently has no sheets/pretty rough surface.(stuck at home with contractor to shop) Put in our room downstairs.
3) Take his crib mattress and put it on our bedroom floor.
It should be patched up by tomorrow after it remains open to dry out. I don't expect a walker to crawl out of the ceiling, but you never know what is in the attic of an 8 year old house. Ugh...
