Tell me about your DC's eating habits

My DS is 20 months and he seems to graze more than eat actual meals.  Does your DC do this?  He used to eat more "meals" and have a snack here or there, but lately he just eats a little very often.  He gets meal stuff for the snacks, but it seems he is always eating!!!

Re: Tell me about your DC's eating habits

  • My DD is 21 months and has always been more of a snacker than a dinner eater.  It sucks, but she would rather eat small snacks vs. a large meal.  I indulge her to some degree, but her snacks are as healthy as I can make them and then I get her to try to eat dinner with us.  She does sit with the other kids at daycare for lunch too, but rarely eats anything substantial (usually just her fruit and occassionally a small amount of the main meal).  She will just snack more than she actually eats.  For snacks, we give her string cheese, yougurt, dried fruit, crackers, Gerber fruit bars, peanut butter toast, or Gerber Yougurt Melts.  For DD it wasn't just a phase, but I'm hoping as she gets older she will try to eat new foods.  Eating has always been a battle for us..and I feel like a failure because of it :(  I'm hoping it will get better.

  • Our eating is totally off right now since he's had RSV. He used to be a great 3 meal a day eater with a snack. Not now! He's hating planned meal times and getting him to eat much is a chore. Like tonight I could get him to eat the chicken nuggets..but forget the peas..eventhough he loves them. Just wasn't in the mood I guess.
  • My pedi warned me about the 18 month phase where they don't eat as much maybe that's what he's going through?
