Question on Implantation Bleeding?

Hi Everyone, i'm new here so i'm sorry if i'm posting in the wrong discussion board. My husband and I have been ttc for a few months now without any luck but we've been trying to be patient . This month a few days before af was supposed to come (which is always right on schedule) I started spoting very very lightly brown at night. The next morning it turned into spotting brown and pink so I thought even though i've never spotted brown before that my period was starting. I realized during the day it was so light and only spotting, never turning into anything more than a light flow. This reddish brown spotting and light flow continued on and off for the past 4 days since then, sometimes it will just go away for more than half the day and then be back the next morning and go away again at night. I don't have any cramps at all, just the feeling of fullness in my stomach, no pain either. My af has never been this light before or this color before either and i'm someone who always has regular cycles. On the third day of this spotting in the morning I took a hpt, it came back as a very faint positive but dh and I could definitely see the line! We were happy but cautious because I didn't know anything really about implantation bleeding. I called my obgyn that day but got the nurse and explained to her, she said as long as I don't soak a pad within an hour then I should be alright and I can schedule an appointment for next week. I felt a little relieved and more happy that i finally got my bfp. That was until the next morning when I took another hpt to confirm, it was negative, no line, not even a faint one and i'm so confused. I've been googling non stop and have been getting everything from mc to ep and everything in between. I took another test this morning and it was a digital one, it also came back negative. I know it depends on the hcg in your body, but is it possible to have a positive and a negative but be pregnant still? I don't want to think I had a very early mc but i'm starting to get really worried. This would be our first baby and i don't have any experience with this at all. I also had a very very small black looking blood clot in my liner the other night, but it didn't look like tissue at all, it was barely the size of my pinky nail. I'm already going to get a blood test to confirm or not whether i'm pregnant this upcoming week, but this not knowing is killing me. Again I had no pains, cramps, no heavy bleeding or anything, could someone let me know their experience with IB, is having a very very small blood clot common during this, and could I still be pregnant with a positive after two negatives? I've also been feeling some other changes that i've never had/seen before such as breast tenderness and growth, change in appetite, very emotional, etc. Thank you everyone in advance!

Could have been a chemical pregnancy or a false positive. Was the first test you used a blue dye test by chance? They are notorious for giving false positives. With the bleeding I'm going to guess chemical pregnancy and then you got your period. But if you are convinced that you're pregnant then go get a blood test. Also, implantation bleeding is rare and most of the time it is very light, like only see it when you wipe light. Anything heavier than that is normally spotting or your period. Of course, like everything else, it varies from woman to woman.
FYI: Best pregnancy tests to use (most accurate) pink dye test (I like First Response) or the digital ones.

Thanks for your reply, I got my positive with first response hpt and got my negative with clear blue digital so i'll try first response again and pick up a few more at the store. I thought maybe a chemical pregnancy but my period has never been this light before, would a chemical pregnancy make your period very light when it does come?

Unfortunately, this sounds somewhat similar to what happened when I had my chemical pregnancy; only I didn't have any spotting.  I took a first response early response test and got a BFP.  Two days later, bfn; almost a week later another bfn.  I called my hospital the day of my second bfn and had to go in for blood work that day.  The pregnancy test came back negative and about a week later AF started.  I didn't have any cramping or spotting before.

My period was not any lighter than normal, but that may not be the case for everyone.
