It's NMS, but at least it's easy to spell. One of my students was named Hennessey and went by Henny. He pulled off that NN with aplomb (or as much aplomb as a 14-year-old named Hennessey could), but I don't think everyone could!

Meh. I would assume it was a girl name (not that it should be, but the -ley names are trendy for girls). Mostly it's just so close to Henry, which is a great name, that it would be heard as Henry a lot. So why not just name him Henry?
