Florida Mama's...and update on DH

Most random title ever. For those who remember the risky job offered to DH close to our families.. Well he didn't take it. He truly felt it was too risky. So that was that.
Moving right along.. He is interviewing for a higher position in his company in the Orlando area. Anyone live around there, the neighboring towns, or know a lot about the area. All I know is disney. My sister lives there but she is in nursing school and looks for different things that I do in a neighborhood. Any input from anyone would be appreciated.

I live in Melbourne, which is about an hour away. It's a really nice area if your H doesn't mind the commute...I know several people that do the drive from here.

I've heard Melbourne is really nice!  He is so over the commute though.  He used to commute an hour on the East coast, and now commutes about 30 minutes and is so over it he said.  He wants to be close to work lol

Gotcha. Unfortunately, I know nothing about where to live in Orlando proper, so I'm no help there.

I'm in Tampa, which is also an hour outside Orlando.

I lived in the Melbourne/Viera area for a few years. Personally, I wouldn't want to commute that far.

I know there are some really nice areas closer to Orlando, but I don't really know much about Orlando beyond shopping and Disney.

My husband's company owns properties out that way. Be careful. There are some pretty rough areas, I think, around the section between 408 and 50. But there are also some nice areas, too. Just not there.
