Confused....IVF in June or not?

So after 1 year and 4 months of unsuccessful TTC, which includes 8 cycles of TI and 4 IUI, we met with a specialist for IVF. We originally planned to do it in June, but now DH is saying that he wants to try naturally on our own just one more cycle. He says, we have proven fertility with DD, so just try one more time. If not successful, then IVF.

Now the thing is, if we don't do it in June, then July I have to travel for work, which means we will have to wait until August for IVF. I guess we can afford to wait two more months. But it's already been 1 year and 4 months, and we are not getting any younger, so I'm anxious to just get it started. But at the same time, I don't want to push for IVF unless DH is 100% ready. What to do....

I would give it two months. I'd be irritated but it's probably more important to keep the peace. I'd still probably be grouchy about it though.

Yeah, I'd give in, but I'd probably mention once or twice I wish we had started sooner if it didn't help (btw- this happened except we have severe mfi- but he needed a few more month ls to convince himself I think... He didn't want to give up and I had mentioned I wished we hadn't waited and he agreed, but it was good that he atleast KNEW you know?)

I'd go with your H, only because you want to be 100% both on board when you do the IVF cycle, because it's crazy overwhelming, it takes a full commitment from both people.

We were about to jump into IVF too this summer but I decided it would be easier in the fall when my girls are back in school. We're going to do 1-2 more rounds of IUI before moving to IVF in September.

Agreed I would wait two months. It's tough but think of all the fun frozen summer drinks you'll get to enjoy.

Thank you ladies all very much! I had a talk with DH this weekend, and I agree with him to postpone IVF. I will see if I can rearrange my business trip so we can start on July, but if not then August. Ahhh i hate postponing, but I just wanted to make sure we have no regrets about taking this step. We have unexplained 2ndary infertility, but DH is convinced that as long as we give ourselves time we can conceive naturally (DD was conceived naturally with TI). I disagree but don't want to force him.

MrsAtch, are you from the Boston area? Dr. Isaacson is also at the practice I have been going to, if it's the same Doc!

I agree with all prior posts regarding having DH on board at the same time you're doing it. That makes perfect sense! Whatever you decide to do, good luck!
