NBR: My fur baby is sick

Our dog goes to doggy daycare every couple weeks to play, and a few weeks ago we noticed the following day that she was walking a little off. We assumed she played a little rough, but within a few days it was obviously worsening and she was limping a bit. A trip to the vet, some imaging, anti-inflammatories and pain killers and we figured she'd be ok in no time. Just a muscle injury. NBD

Fast forward a few weeks and the limp is even worse. She toe-touches her way across the living room. She's not her spunky self and is not eating well. I'm at the vet with her and they did more imaging, this time from a different angle. There's something behind her shoulder, pressing against the shoulder and lung. They're concerned she has a tumor, but can't biopsy because it's behind the bone. All they can do is refer us to a specialist who has the ability to do ultrasound, ct, or MRI.

She young, only 4. It breaks my heart that she may be seriously ill. I haven't called DH yet; I'm not ready to ruin his day. And I'm concerned about the financial aspect of what may be to come. Our regular vet is at least doing all the bloodwork and whatnot that they can to send since they're about a third of the cost. We've had a lot of unexpected expenses this year, and it's wearing on me (and the back account).

Anyway, no real point to this except to vent. If you have any healthy puppy ju-ju you could send Riley's way, she'd appreciate it.

Poor little pup. I hope it's just a little cyst or something. FX!

So sorry and hoping it isn't too serious! I just went through a few weeks of my cat throwing up. After some blood work, X-ray and ultrasound we still don't have answers. However, a change in diet seems to be helping. Next was exploratory surgery. It sucks when the fur babies are sick! The expenses make it that much more difficult to deal with!!! Fx for good news!!

@esd that's the hope. If they can do an ultrasound guided biopsy we can find out what this thing is. Sadly, the specialists are at a conference and we couldn't get an appointment for a couple weeks. Just going she's ok until then.
