Do 12m shots hit harder than the ones before? We had our 12m appt today, and Luke is super crabby and clingy and rosy-cheeked and has been sleeping fitfully on my chest for the last hour and a half - lately he usually barely takes an afternoon nap. Previous shots haven't really phased him.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
Yep, MMR and chicken pox. They told me to watch for reactions 7-10 days later.
He slept for 2 hours, woke up, saw Dad was home, all smiles. We'll see how tonight goes.

12 mo was easier for us than a lot of the other ones, as I recall. But Marnie had pretty much stopped reacting to inoculations by then. My whole family has a very strong constitution, so as a whole we are seldom affected by inoculations. (Fingers crossed, knock on wood.)
I haven't been through it yet, but when I scheduled his 12 month appt the receptionist asked when I was doing his party and made sure to schedule after that because she said the reaction was generally stronger and she didn't want him feeling bad for his party. I appreciate her kindness, but I'm a bit afraid of the shots now.
Yeah, my pedi warned us in advance that "it's the appointment where I know the parents all want to ask why I like making everyone miserable." I had to have my second MMR dose split up as a kid because I had a bad reaction, agreed with PPs that it's common to have. Reaction with that one.
Thanks everyone! After he woke up from that nap he seemed fine except not being as hungry as normal for dinner and a small spit-up before bed, which were probably more from eating so much yesterday than from shots. Slept beautifully, back to normal this morning.
