Does anyone have any recommendations for good support pillows? I need to get one for my back and hips and not to mention my growing belly. Ready, set, go with those suggestions.
I had a snoogle last time, but I didn't love it, I found it so big and with tossing and turning I found it too big to maneuver in bed, but I know lots of people who loved it. I guess it depends on how much you move at night. This time I'm definitely getting a wedge to support my belly. I just use a regular pillow between my legs and another one for my arms, lol. Also, I sometimes used my c-shaped breastfeeding pillow between my legs and that was comfy.
I had a snoogle and a boppy with my first pregnancy, and all that crap is just annoying, hot, and cumbersome. When I really needed something, I just put a regular pillow between my legs or under my belly when I laid on my side (towards the end)

with DS, we actually had two body pillows in the bed. LH had one that he used, and when i got pregnant i got one for myself. by the end, i was using both, lol. i was sort of leaning back against one and hugging the other and running it between my knees and also under my belly. it was amazing. you need a big bed though. lol

I love my snoogle and never really stopped sleeping with it, it makes a great nest or back support. I read you can get one for about $45 at Burlington coat factory's baby section which is a lot less painful than $60, but for me it was worth every penny.
I am definitely going to petition for a body pillow this time around. Last time I just shoved a wadded up blanket under my belly to support it, and I don't think that is going to fly this time considering how big I am already. I feel like, as much as I would love to try a snoogle, it's just way too big for me.
I have a bad back to begin with so every night I sleep with a smallish square pillow between my knees. It helps align your spine rather than having your knees touch if you are a side sleeper. If you sleep on your back you should put a pillow under your knees. Even with my bad back, which required a few weeks of PT last pregnancy (and probably will again with this pregnancy) I slept pretty well just using a body pillow. I could tuck one end between my knees, use the middle portion for belly support if needed, and have the top end to wrap my hard around. It's no where near as bulky as some pregnancy pillows.
