My best friend found out she has breast cancer.  She is only 31 with no family history, so the "research" I have been doing is showing that in under 40s, women who get breast cancer typically have either advanced and/or aggressive types.

I am going to go with her to her first appointment next Thursday.

Cancer is one of my biggest fears.

I'm so sorry. Please don't research too much and get yourself in a tizzy. Hopefully everything will go as well as possible. She will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you, dear friends.  It hasn't really hit me.  When I talk about it, I could be talking about someone I don't even know, if that makes any sense.  

She and I have a VERY sick sense of humor, so hopefully that will help.  We have already been discussing the giant knockers she can get now

Oy. This is just a rough week on the O&D boards. I won't share the whole story, but I've been in your place with a good friend and an aggressive cancer diagnosis. I'm happy to talk about the journey with you if you would like. I am so, so sorry.

@hopefulmom81 - I am soooo sorry to hear this. I know where you are coming from, I really do.  My best friend had breast cancer two years ago.. she was turning 33 soon after, so very young too. (although her mother had it, also, so it runs in her family). It was the most scary period of my life.  She is now in remission and 100% healthy (minus chemo brain that we both make fun of, because we have a warped sense of humor too).  No lie that chemo and radiation was rough on her, but it made her such a strong person.  You will be a rock for her to lean on
