1st birthday - what's the best time?

Birthday planning has slowly begun. I have a date but what time is the best time? It'll be on a sunday.

After nap time?  So they will be well rested and not crabby.

We did DD's at 1 pm.  She took at nap at 11:30 and woke up shortly before everyone arrived.

i agree with AFTER nap time.  no crabby baby means a happier birthday party.  we had rachel's from 3-6...i think.

We did one around 2...it was after nap and we just had snacks and cake & ice cream..not a full meal.

see that's the thing also. I was thinking around 2 but that's after lunch. And I was planning to serve a full lunch. hm...might have to do 1.

We did early, like 4-6 since DS had his nap.  We just provided pizza for everyone since it was during dinnertime.  With DD's we did 6ish I think, but it seemed too late for a 1 year old.  I liked doing it earlier better and will do all their birthday parties earlier like that.
