Happy early birthday to me....

The family I have been working for 20 yrs wants to pay for my FET as my birthday present which is at end of month. I have been with them since oldest now was 4 weeks old. I don't want them too but hey. .I haven't had a raise in many years so I could look at it like that lol.

DE coordinator is going go talk to Dr if there is anything different that could be done. She said they normally don't look into that much until after another failed cycle. I'm like WTF...your looking into to it now!! So FET here we come. Hoping we can do it ASAP.

Thank you AGAIN for your caring comments. That meant so much to me :)

ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    What a great family.  Sorry, I'm not familiar with FET, but as this may be your last one, can they implant more than 1 embryo?

    @lcwed‌ I have 2 pairs frozen. If one set survives the thaw yes we can transfer both but not sure I want to. We won't know until day of transfer I guess? I will be 46 in few weeks and don't think I can handle twins and maybe risks that come with it.

    Guess they refreeze? Have to call lab and check on that. Would not want to waste an embryo :(

    Wow - that is amazing Becky.  What a generous gift!!!   They clearly realize how lucky they are to have you.

    I am so happy for you.  And it takes off so much pressure not having to worry about the financials.

    As pp mentioned, definitely ask your doctor what the odds of success are with transferring 1 vs 2, as well as what the incidence of twins is when transferring 2.  I was on the fence re: whether to transfer 1 or 2 and I learned (at least for my clinic and my age) there is not that significant difference in transferring 1 vs. 2 but the odds of twins went up exponentially.  So we decided to go with 1 for this round.  But we have different diagnosis and ages so all that factors in.

    And DEFINITELY tell your doctor you want to understand what can be done differently.

    TTC#1 since Aug 2013, I'm 37, DH 41.  
    Maya Arvigo Abdominal massage (daily self care), plus TTC meditations.
    I'm very sensitive to diet (gluten, avoid processed foods) and environment. Have a history of inflammation and tendinitis before going off gluten in 2009.  
    July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal 
    DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes.  Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube.  If that doesn't help then move to IVF. 
    Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help.  Doubts I have endometriosis.  My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!) 
    Seriously considering IVF in March/April
    12/17/14 - Natural BFP!

    That is the best birthday gift ever.

    Make sure you stress to all at the clinic that this may be your last shot so they better pull out all the stops. If it was your estrogen or anything else they need to figure it out before that next embie goes in!!!!

    If I knew how to puts a GIF on I would put one if Carlton from the fresh prince doing that dance he did.

    IUI#5 with Gonal F and Ovidrel trigger on 6/6 - BFN

    On to IVF #1 with a new RE. Started Gonal F and Menopur on 8/15.  Added Ganirelix on 8/24. Trigger on 8/26 for ER on 8/28. 8R 7M 3F.  Transferred all 3 on 8/31. BFP on 9/11 | EDD 5/20/15 - Beta #1: 56.7. Beta #2: 97. Beta #3: 1148. Beta #4: 3559. Beta #4: 7678. MMC confirmed on 10/13. D&C on 10/14 at 9w. Confirmed male with Trisomy 14.

    On to IVF #2 in March. CCS Testing on 2 embies. No go. Waiting to start IVF #3 in July. Surprise BFP on 6/14! EDD - 2/20/16 - Beta #1: 121.4. Beta #2: 236.4. Beta #3: 2014.

    Definitely ask about how many should be transferred. If and when I get to transfer again after my additional retrieval and PGD testing my RE and I have already discussed how many.  He wants to transfer 3 if I have that many normals.  The reason being my age.  The chances are much less at this point that all three will implant and give me multiples.  Also, I don't believe they can refreeze once they are thawed, so you'll want to get advice and the thaw process as well..

    Me: 44 - Hashimoto's (under control), DH: 38 - (minor issues)

    IUIs: 2 in 2012 ... Both BFN
    IVF #1: 10/16/13 ... BFP, however it was not viable and ended in an early loss at 7weeks.
    IVF #2: Feb '14 ... Cancelled. Positive beta at baseline appt, became very early loss.
    IVF #2: Apr '    14 ... Retrieval Only. 2 embryos made it to day 3 freeze & will be batched with IVF #3 for PGD testing.
    IVF #3: June '14     ...     Retrieval Only. 4 embryos growing, all arrested before day 5. Two from April thawed, but also arrested.
    Currently benched while determining how to proceed.

    So happy for you...ok I'm crying in happiness! :) your chances of twins probably aren't that high since most times it can be an implantation issue! I would definitely talk to dr about all your concerns and telling them you want everything possible done for your success....so glad you are getting another chance you deserve it!

    Wow, what an amazing gift!

    Are your embryos frozen in sets that have to be thawed together?  Or can you thaw them one individual embryo at a time assuming you decide you only want to transfer one?

    Also, someone above said they don't think they can be re-frozen after thawed.  It's true that it is preferable not to thaw and re-freeze, but it can be done (at least my lab is willing to try; maybe others have a poicy against it).  I asked my lab this question just this week becuase we are doing PGD (genetic testing on the embryos before implanting).  The lab extracted material from the embryos for testing and then froze them.  In the event one of the testing samples isn't good, they can thaw that embryo, retest, and then freeze again (they'd have to freeze again to wait the 1-2 weeks it takes to get the results back).  So long story short, I think it is possible, although not ideal to thaw and refreeze (beause it could damage the embryo too much).

    Wonderful news Becky! This is meant to be - really hoping this will be it for you :)

    Me 38 MH 41 - TTC since June 2010 - dx with Severe MFI. Straight to IVF with ICSI. IVF #1 - ER 06/13/12 - 9 Eggs Retrieved - 4 ICSI'd - only 2 fert. 06/15/12 - 2DT - 3 cell & 6 cell with fragmentation. Beta 06/29/12 - IVF #1 = BFN. 07/20/12 - WTF Appt -Told by our RE to quit IVF. Second Opinion from RE is good. IVF#2 - November 2012. Estradiol Pills Started 11/6. Stims start 11/16. ER 11/26 - 7 eggs retrieved - all mature. 4 fertilized with ICSI. ET 11/29 Transferred 3 embryos. Beta is 12/10. 1st Beta 81 2nd Beta 160 and 3rd beta 360!!! First U/S 12/21/12 - We saw one beautiful gest. sac. 2nd U/S is 01/04/2013 - H/B 183 02/05/13 - NT Scan - everything looks good and IT'S A BOY!  Aiden was born 08/20/2013.

    IVF #2 is in progress.  ER was 05/12/14 - 11 eggs retrieved, 8 fertilized with ICSI.  ET was 05/15/14 - we transferred 3 embryos as we did on the cycle my son was conceived.  We were able to freeze 3 embryos. Beta is scheduled for 05/26/14.  1st beta - 111.  2nd beta - 159 didn't double :( 3rd beta Friday 5/30) - not a lot of hope left. Beta # 3 is 247 - probably ectopic.  Beta # 4 is 813 - possibly vanishing multiple sydrome?  06/05/14 - 5w4days - first U/S - we see a gestational sac and yolk - still have hope!  06/17/14 - 7w1day - U/S and saw and heard the heartbeat - Finally!  06/27/14 - 8w4days - Baby and heartbeat look and sound great :)  EDD 02/01/14 and It's a boy!

    Our TTC Journey: Me: 39 (short luteal phase, hypothyroidism) DH: 41 (no problems)
    Pre-TTC: worked with a physician nutritionist on health improvement to naturally increase LP and get healthy.
    Cycles 1-9: Supplemented with progesterone during LP and acupuncture. All BFN's. 
    Cycle 10: switched to a new RE, medicated IUI and continued acupuncture. BFP! EDD: 2/5/15. Beta 1: 49; Beta 2: 151; Beta 3: 1878. 7w4d HB was 153.

    BeckyP005, Interesting, I didn't know that. Or maybe my clinic just won't refreeze. If it were me I'd be thawing the pair and transferring both.  But you will I'm sure make the best decision for you. Regardless, I'm so thrilled you get another chance at this, hopefully the transfer can happen soon.

    Me: 44 - Hashimoto's (under control), DH: 38 - (minor issues)

    IUIs: 2 in 2012 ... Both BFN
    IVF #1: 10/16/13 ... BFP, however it was not viable and ended in an early loss at 7weeks.
    IVF #2: Feb '14 ... Cancelled. Positive beta at baseline appt, became very early loss.
    IVF #2: Apr '    14 ... Retrieval Only. 2 embryos made it to day 3 freeze & will be batched with IVF #3 for PGD testing.
    IVF #3: June '14     ...     Retrieval Only. 4 embryos growing, all arrested before day 5. Two from April thawed, but also arrested.
    Currently benched while determining how to proceed.

    @PrivateOne but who knows how well my clinic does it lol.

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!
