Kirby Vacuum-NBR

I swear, there's a sucker born every minute, and my husband is one of them. I was gone yesterday afternoon since I was hosting a bridal shower. When I returned home, a Kirby vacuum salesman was leaving the house, and my husband had bought one!

I'm never leaving the house again haha :-/

Anyways, I know nothing about the Kirby brand. Most of the reviews I've looked up have been really negative, but it's because of the rude,pushy salespeople and not really the vacuum itself. Do any of you ladies own a Kirby? Do you like it? I'm hoping my husband didn't jut waste a bunch of our money!

My mom had one for at least 15 years (& bought another one after burning through a bissell and Hoover). It was the only vacuum out there that did well on pet hair.

The dog we grew up with was part husky, chow, German Shepard, & collie so she was a major shedder for 15 years and now my mom & her DH have cats so more little shedding machines.

You do have to change filters and maintain it like a car though. I think my mom wanted to kill my dad when they purchased the original...but once it sucked all of the dog hair up she was sold.

My sister and her hubby have one with a ton of attachments. They LOVE it!!

We have one as well. I was amazed at how well it picked up dog hair compared to my other vacuum. I have a husky that sheds a ton. I love all the attachments and use it to vacuum and dust. It comes with a lifetime warranty as well. I can also use mine to shampoo the carpets and they never looked so clean.

My parents have been using theirs for 20 years. Best vacuum ever.

Wow, I'm glad that you all had such positive experiences with it! Makes me feel better about my husband's very expensive impulse buy. We also have a husky who sheds like no other, so it will be nice to have something that gets all the hair up!
