XP: rhogam shot at 5 weeks (TMI)

So I woke up this morning with some brown spotting when I wiped. I went about my day. It didn't happen for the rest of the day at work. When I came home I wiped again and had a thick cm eggwhite like with brown streaks within. I called my dr and he called me saying he would like me to go in for blood work to measure my levels as well as come into the office and receive the rhogam shot.
I had the shot with my DS at 28 weeks and then again when I delivered. I hope that my body isn't fighting the baby and it's just old implantation blood.
Anyone have any discharge or rhogam shot early in their pregancy? I am worried that getting the shot will effect the babies development. I am hoping for a sticky baby!

  • I had the rhogam shot with my son. I was told that it protects your next pregnancy. Spotting during pregnancy is completely normal. As long as it isn't heavy, full of clots, or with bad cramps I would say you are fine. I didn't know you could get another shot but if your doctor said you could then I assume it's fine. Good luck!

  • I think you are supposed to get the shot at any point in the pregnancy that you have bleeding. My doc always asks me every time if I have any bleeding at all to tell her because of this.

I wouldn't worry about it affecting your baby's development
