I'm horrible at this...help me with my hair!

So I need help deciding what to do with my hair.  The last time it was dyed was last April so I have some MAJOR "ombre" going on.  I want to do it myself, so I need some recommendations on brands.  Also, my hair is naturally dark blonde and it was leftover blonde highlights in it...so do I do all-over blonde or dark to even everything out???  I'm such a newb at this shit, I usually just let my stylist pick out the color for me, but I can't afford to go to the salon right now, so to Parenting I go.  What do you ladies think????

I actually dyed my hair yesterday. I hadn't been to my stylist since January and my highlights had grown out so I had the ombre thing going too. I'm not skilled enough to keep doing the highlights myself so I just wanted to get my hair closer to my natural light brown color. I ended up getting color from this site: https://www.madison-reed.com/d
Its a little more pricey then if I had picked up a box at the store, but I really, really like it and still cheaper then the salon. They help you pick the right color too. I ended up going with the Lucca Light Brown and am super happy.
