Yes, obvioulsy Romance is a girls name.  Bromance is a boy's name.  Duh.

I've always loved Melody as a name but DH thinks it's too hippy. I've recently come to really like Cadence too.

Psalm might be the weirdest one for me from that list. It's the one that least sounds like a name to me.

Melody was my mother's choice for me (my dad was a musician so she thought this would be cute). My father nixed that by complaining that people would most likely call me "Mel" which he thought was awful. Instead he named me something that I have had to correct people on my entire life. So I'm not sure who won that battle...

Isn't Baila Yiddish? Does it also mean something else? (Dance in Spanish? ?)

Baila is a Yiddish name that means "white"

Cadence is my number one girl name right now. Love this name. I'm thinking either Cadence Noelle or Cadence Isobel.

I don't think Carol is so weird. My MIL's name is Carol. I guess a variant of Carole (as in singer Carole King). I also know a few women named Melody, used to work with two on different occasions. And Aria seems to be pretty popular.

Plunderb isn't posting these because she thinks they are weird.  She's posting them to inspire/ spark conversation.  Plus it's just interesting.

Carol is fine.  It's a "mom" name to me.

 I always thought Harmony was a boys name, but that's because my dh used to ride the school bus with an actress's kids who were Sunshine (girl) and Harmony (boy).
