Which one would you buy?

The lovely elderly couple that I take care of has given me $100 to buy a baby carrier. I love them! I have no idea which one to buy. There are so many different ones. I don't know if I'd be good with the wrap kinds, I feel like they're a little confusing. I like the kind that you can wear them on the front or back. I'm mostly interested in using it for when I need to do chores and she won't let me put her down. We also do a lot of hiking in the summer so it would be nice to use it for that too.

So recommend your carriers ladies! Also can I get a decent one for $100? Thanks!

I tend to use my moby wrap when I'm at home. The fabric is comfy and I can take my time wrapping it, but it's warm which in FL is not a great thing. So when we go out I bring the Ergo. It clips in fast and is cooler for the LO.

I have a moby which is nice at home and a Sakura ring sling. I don't know that the ring sling would be what you're looking for. Several people have mentioned the mei tei and how they really like it. I am thinking of getting one of those.

ETA: they are all under $100, the ring sling was the most expensive at $85

  • Looooove my Mei tai. I have the infantino one, it was crazy affordable and easy to use.

  • I like my K'tan for now, but LO has mixed feelings about it. I have to put her in it at the right time, or she'll just cry. Oh, and she tends to spit up right down my cleavage when I put her in!

I'm looking forward to using the Ergo, but I didn't buy the infant insert. It says you start using the regular Ergo around 4 months. That will be nice, because both DH and I can use it.
  • I love my baby Bjorn. I can easily get DS in and out of it in about 30 seconds and I always put him in there when he won't let me put him down but I still need to get things done around the house. I have a wrap too be he doesn't like being in that as much as the Bjorn. He has really good head control and he likes being able to look around at the world while he's in the Bjorn.
  • Sweet, thanks ladies! I'm excited to start looking for one. I'm going to check out the ergo ones while I'm at target today. ;)
  • I've yet to use my ergo. But my sister loves hers! She put her 1 year old in it and took him hiking up American Fork Canyon...this 1 year old weighs over 30 lbs & wears 3T clothes. She said it didn't hurt her back at all! Plus most 1 year olds are not that large..so you'd be able to get extended use out of it! :)

  • Wow, you ladies are awesome, you really know your stuff! @NanaCook‌ do you live in Utah?!
  • Yes I do! I remember you're the only other Utah bumpie I remember! That's why I felt cool throwing AF canyon out there. ;)

  • Haha, yayyyy! I thought I was the only Utahn here, I'm happy I'm not alone anymore :)
  • Boba carrier not the boba wrap. It goes up higher so it gives them more support and less strain in you. Also with the ergo you need to use an infant insert and you don't with the boba. I have heard good things about the onya too.
