Should I be worried

I went for an early scan this morning, when I worked out my dates by my period I am 5 weeks and 6 days, however at my scan my baby measured 1.6mm which is somewhere between 4&5 weeks?? Can this happen?

Re: Should I be worried

  • Everything @MaxsMom9‌ said. There a lot of other women who have found that early U/S are not adding up to their calculations. If your doctor doesn't seem concerned, it probably isn't anything to worry about.

  • She said the same, we saw a tiny heartbeat which confused me as usually 5-6 weeks when see HB. I have to go back next week for another scan

  • I measured 10 days behind. You could have ovulated later then you thought!
  • As long as the doc isn't worried you should try your best not to be too. Like PPs said you could have ovulated later than expected.

  • I know with 100% certainty the day I ovulated. I could probably pinpoint it to a few hour window because I used a trigger shot to ovulate.
I still measured 4 days off. The U/S on its on can be 5-7 +/-.
They can be 1 or 2 mm off, which is MAJOR that early!
  • Also, at that early are you sure it was the embryo and not a yolk sac? if it wasnt a tv ultrasound, it could be even more off.
  • Yes, too early. One week makes a huge difference.
  • Well I'm back on Wednesday for another scan so fingers crossed we have a growth spurt!

I've been measuring off a couple days as well.  It seems to be common and nothing to worry about (I know easier said than done).  If you were  not charting, you will not know approximately when you ovulated because that doesn't always happen on the magic day 14.  Try to stay calm and FX for a great ultrasound on Wednesday.
