Someone on 3T posted this (link is below).  I had not seen it, but it makes my blood boil and I had to vent about it.  Apparently Dr. Drew told a caller on this show that Endo is a "garbage disease" that people diagnose when there is nothing else that fits.  I am sorry, I am pretty sure my endo was diagnosed by an RE who performed a lap, not just because nothing else fit.  Idiot.

Uggg. . .blood is boiling here as well!!!  I really hate TV docs, lets diagnosis a medical problem on TV without any medical tests on the actual patient just the patient/friend/family member calling passing on medical information (& not necessarily accurate information). There is a reason you go to the doctor to get properly diagnosed vs. some TV quack. Ok. . .end of rant.

Wow, what a load of crap. I feel really sorry for that lady...endo and IC!! Both diseases where people are told "it's in their head" and both very real and painful. I have stage IV endo and was not sexually abused...wonder what he'd say about me? Idiot!

I read this over the weekend. I was outraged and emailed his show's production company. Many of the Endo specialists have now also emailed him and publically spoken out against his idiotic statements.

It took me 10 years for someone to take my pain seriously. Having Dr. Drew publically tell people that, basically, womens' pain is in their heads is asinine.  This whole thing pissed me off to a degree I didn't know was possible!!

Aweful! How can you say that when it is something you can actually SEE!! Took them over a year to find mine too (thought it was my gall bladder so they just took it out and no change in pain!). My sister had it with no pain so it took forever to diagnose her and when they finally went to look for it, it was severe! Who pays these people?!?!

Wait..... Isn't he a psychiatrist or psychologist? Truthfully psychiatrists are MDs but I doubt they spend enough time on the reproductive system to warrant them talking about female issues let alone a disease like endo.

Clearly he should keep his mouth shut.
