mini rant new RE clinic

So I'm new to the IF world as you guys that saw my intro know...
Our 1st appt is May 5th and they required me to have a phone appointment with the nurse and insisted that my records be faxed prior to this morning.  So i have everything faxed and I call in today, and the nurse admits to not reading my record (why the F did I have to send it then?)  and wants my history...it's all in the record! What was the point of this phone call??

This happen to anyone else?

Sorry you had to go thru the trouble to just have to explain anyway. This hasn't happened to me in this type of situation but yes for others. Extremely annoying to say the least. Hope things go smoothly from here on out. [:

  • I have had less then stellar experiences with the support staff and nurses at my RE office.  They seem completely uninterested in helping me.  I sometimes feel like I get better service at a spa.  You would think that since we are paying multiple thousands of dollars at a time, we could get a little bit of customer service, and respect for our time and effort!

I hope your RE is more prepared for the appointment!

I was pleasantly surprised that my new RE had clearly read my file before I came in. Fully expected your experience. Whether he remembers a thing about me next time is less clear.

Bad call by your nurse, especially with a new patient!

  • I feel like my RE knows me only because he now thinks my case is interesting.  And because I've had a few sob-fest phone calls with him.  :-(

I go to a big practice and often am treated by other REs, so I do think it's understandable.

I keep detailed notes and get test results as I go along, sometimes you have to advocate for yourself if they tell you to do something that doesn't sound right based on your history.
Great tip, thank you! I will do that for sure!
