PGAL brain is getting the best of me

I had a bad day yesterday and now I can't shake it.  The TP was slightly brown, like old blood/PMS brown when I wiped yesterday several times.  Last night I felt crampy off and on and my lower back kind of aches like it does before my period.  I'm having serious deja vu as this is exactly how my MC started last time.  To make matters worse, for the first time since my BFP my boobs didn't hurt last night and this morning I brushed my teeth like it was no big deal instead of the usual gagfest it's been.

I'm just sad, like this is the beginning of the end.

I could have written the original post myself this morning. I am trying not to freak out because it is just a little dark spotting and some cramping. I still feel a little nauseous but my breasts don't feel sore right now. My first doctor's appointment isn't until May 15th. The waiting is killing me. T&P's for all of us.

So sorry you are going through this. I know how scary spotting is. I've had it in all of my pregnancies-- both the losses as well as with DS and, last week, with this one. So, at least in my experience, spotting really can go either way. I hope this is just old blood working its way out and that baby is settling in nice and cozy in there. Big ((hugs)) to you. PgAL brain sucks. After my spotting episode about 10 days ago, I ordered a Doppler online and have started to use it when PgAL brain rears its ugly head.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. FWIW my symptoms disappeared around 7w too and I freaked out. Turns out I was still pg. I've also had cramps and backaches on and off. The backaches are the worst because it's just like my period and I know that feeling of being overcome with sadness because you assume the worst. FX that it's nothing. ((hugs))

Thanks ladies for all your support. I'm trying to stay positive and remember these are two completely separate pregnancies. I'm just slightly jaded since my only experience with spotting ended in miscarriage.

I've continued to be crampy off and on all morning, but no real change with the spotting. Still only slight when I wipe. So I guess no news is good news.

Hugs! I have to keep telling myself that it's perfectly normal for symptoms to come and go. That's about all we can do, I guess...  Do you have an ultrasound coming up anytime soon?

@jayellekay‌ Thanks. :) I have an U/S on May 9. So pretty soon! At this point I'm not sure moving it up would be very reassuring anyways since I had two ultrasounds last time including the day I miscarried where we saw a strong HB. I hate that my mind thinks that way.

I'm so sorry that all of our minds always seem to go to that bad place! I think it's inevitable after loss...

Hang in there until May 9! Truth be told, I wish mine wasn't until 8 weeks or later, but I have my first one this Friday at 6 weeks. I'm preparing myself not to see anything, but even though I know it's rational, I will worry.

Cramping is such a mindfuck, but try to remember that your uterus is growing and it is going to hurt just as much as when it squeezes.  I tell myself that constantly.  I am still a mess, but it helps me stay as positive as I can be under the circumstances.

I am sure everything is just fine. Its hard not to think/feel this way when you are PgAL. I feel like I am constantly touching my boobs to make sure they still hurt (that was my first give away for my loss). Everything you are describing is normal for the first tri. Its just so hard having been "there" not to let your mind wander back there.

Hugs and T&P  Please update us but I have a feeling you will be back tomorrow full force with a nice batch of symptoms. xo

I'm so sorry you are feeling this way today. PgAL brain is the worst and it's easy to fall back into those scary thoughts. I'm feeling the cramps too and knowing that things are growing and stretching down there is easing my mind, but the back ache is there as well. I'm sending you extra good vibes that everything is okay! Don't hesitate to call your doctor either like @momtobe85 said!

PgAL has me today too. I have my first Ultrasound this afternoon and I've never had a good one. I was so positive until today and now I'm a wreck.

FX that the cramps and backache are just your body changing.

Just remember that today we are pregnant and we love our babies.

We are pregnant until someone tells us otherwise.
This.  PGAL brain gets the best of us all.  Best wishes for a healthy outcome :)

I'm sorry you're feeling like that today.  PGAL is tough and some days will be better than others.  I have had some light brown discharge, cramps, and backaches as well.  At my last ultrasound, everything was great.  Like you, my CP started like this as well and although scary, it doesn't necessarily mean a miscarriage is imminent.  I have also had really sore boobs some days and not sore boobs the next day.  Symptoms come and go are not necessarily indicative of a failing pregnancy.  As the days go by, I'm a little more at ease and trying to really enjoy this pregnancy.  My doctor says some cramping and/or backache is also just attributed to a growing uterus and a healthy pregnancy!  Reading through these posts make me realize cramping may be a lot more common than I thought!

I see you are past your loss milestone, CONGRATULATIONS!

You are pregnant today and being happy is not going to change that!
