Pregnant after a Loss

How do you handle the waiting

Hello all...
I had a miscarriage last month and got pregnant two weeks after my D&C. While I haven't had any bleeding this pregnancy, my doctor has very little hope because my progesterone is so low (2.3 last pregnancy, this time it was measured at 4 before I started supplements). We saw a heartbeat at 123 bpm last week at 6w0d, but even that doesn't make me feel better, because last time I had three ultrasounds with a heartbeat before it stopped. So how do you handle the waiting? Not knowing how this is going to turn out is killing me. I have another ultrasound in two weeks and I don't know how I'm going to last that long.  I overanalyze any increase or decrease in symptoms, and DH has wisely banned me from google. I would love to hear some insights.

  • I have no idea how I made it through those first few weeks--I still have freak out days....hang in there.  You are doing everything you can do.   Try to avoid triggers.

To be honest, the first trimester is brutal. I had a loss at 6w and another one at 12 but wasn't discovered until 14w. This time around I was so positive I was going to lose it again. I mean, why not, right? But one of the best advices I got here is that every pregnancy is different. This pregnancy is not related to any of the ones before, we can't compare :) Embrace it with a new fresh attitude. It is still very hard, and there were days I would cry just because it is so frustrating... but like other pp said, take one day at the time. It gets easier as the pregnancy progresses and you get good news, and more good news and then you start feeling some movement. I got a doppler and even though I don't use it too often, it saved me a couples of times from loosing my mind (I wouldn't recommend to use it before 14 weeks). Just try to relax and enjoy, this might be your rainbow and every single child deserves to be celebrated :) Good luck!
