Win: My biggest win happened just this week. LO has been having some horrible gas/tummy/constipation issues. Our pedi told us to not switch her formula because babies tummies go through "milk shock" where their formula is changed. We tried everything...gripe water, extra water with the formula, prune juice...and she was just so fussy and uncomfortable. I cried with her so this week I said to hell with it and transitioned her to the up&up gentle formula...and wow! She is a whole new baby! I couldn't be happier!
Fail: Not a major fail...but I went to change her diaper a couple hours after her bath the other day...I barely got a clean diaper under her and she clearly was not done pooping, so I quickly closed it up around her. After a few minutes, I went to change it...didn't even get a new diaper under her and she peed everywhere and it ran all over her changing pad, up her back, everything. So...it was back to the bath...again...
My win: LO had been pretty constipated and fussy and overall miserable. So I rubbed his belly and left side of abdomen to help out. He just stared up at me while holding perfectly still and super content (which he hadn't been) for probably a good ten mins. He then raises an eyebrow and corner of lip (kind of like Elvis) and poops the biggest poop. Once done he gives me the cutest smile, it was like he was saying 'thanks mom!' Made me feel like I actually knew what I was doing.
My fail: our couch has so many pee stains from LO! I totally suck at being quick with diaper changes, I think I worry I won't clean him well enough and he'll have a horrible diaper rash again.
Win- I got LO waking up only once during the night. Probably doesn't have much to do with me, but I'll take it.
Fail- DS1 refuses to eat grapes if they've been cut. So I gave him some with full intention to just watch him. Anyway, I got distracted trying to get LO to latch on and DS1 started jumping on the couch. Next thing I know, his hand is on my shoulder and he was making a sickening choking noise. I throw him over my lap and baby, pound on his back, and out pop THREE big ass grapes. He starts breathing and I shove my finger in his mouth to make sure I got everything. So we won't be getting grapes again for awhile.

Win - buying a MobyWrap. Camden loves it and it has been a lifesaver with his reflux, during the day! It's the only way he can get a nap in over 30minutes!
Fail - My nails are pretty long. Pretty sure it was me who gave him a scratch on his face. I cried when it happened.....it didn't seem to phase him but I felt terrible. I also poked him with my nails when I changed his diaper the other day. Time to get these beasts manicured and polished.
1st win : I thought DS hated being swaddled, because he was always crying when I was trying to wrap him after we got back to the hospital. After reading The happiest baby on the block a couple weeks ago, I decided to give swaddling another shot, and now my baby often sleeps 2-3 hours in a row instead of 1-2 hours! (Small win, I know, but this is huge for this sleep-deprived first-time mom...)
2nd win : SWING FTW. I started putting DS in the swing a few days ago for his day naps, and now he does 1.5-2.5 hours naps instead of 15-20 cat naps! I can do so much more stuff around the house now!
Fail : My bed is full of milk stains because I suck at putting my nursing bra back on after nighttime feedings laying in bed... :-/ I finally put a little blanket under us that I change almost daily, but I haven't washed my bed linens in a few weeks now... oops.
Win: I taught him to latch with his tongue tie and we bf about 50% of the time. I only have to pump a few times a day now
Fail: i made fleece liners for our cd and they have ended up giving Colton a rash. I feel horrible because it took me a week to figure out what it was causing the rash
Win: First weekend trip away = SUCCESS! A wonderful time was had by all. Also, I packed everything that both I and LO needed for the three-day weekend just in our diaper bag and a canvas tote bag. That's including enough cloth diapers for the whole time. YAY MINIMALISM. I didn't feel like I wanted or missed anything, either. Maybe one more clean shirt for me would have been nice.
Fail: I think his diaper rash might be coming back. :-( I will beat it!
so far: 1st night home was biggest fail. LO didn't sleep even once, I hadnt slept in 4 days, DH got called in to a mandatory meeting the next day so he couldn't help me much, I wasn't burping properly so LO was in pain, LO wouldnt let me put him in the crib, and everything just went so badly I just broke down the next day. other fail: LO has awful gas and I've tried everything I could think of to help but no dice. I am really glad we have a pedi appt tomorrow. biggest win: surviving these first two weeks!
