urgent question: crinone

As of this morning I started using crinone. My doctor asked me to use them every morning. today I received the message that my ET is scheduled for tmrw (3rd day) at 2:30pm. Nobody told me whether I should use crinone tmrw morning and now the office is closed. What should I do? Should I use it or keep it clean until after transfer. I am scared of doing something wrong. Please help.

I Believe you do NOT use it the day of transfer. I doublechecked my portal directions and it clearly told me NOT to use it that day. That is at least what my doctors rules are..but I also did my transfer earlier in the day than yours

I guess you can always call when it opens in the morning and ask

I am not yet at this step but my directions say do not use on morning of transfer.

Is there an after hours number? I was told not to use progesterone, but mine was at 9 AM. Also check the paperwork they gave you--sometimes the instructions will be in there.

Someone recently posted about this, and said their RE told them to use it and that they'd "clean up" a bit before transfer. My timing fell such that I put mine in a couple hrs after transfer time. Sorry I'm not much help!!

the document they gave me is for day 5 transfer at 3pm and it says use it in the morning. and the nurse back before my ER said that for the third day transfer do not use it but she was thinking that it would be in the morning. Because 5day 3pm directions say that I should use it and because my 3rd day transfer is at 2:30pm I am confused and do not know whether I should use it or not. Is there a difference between 3rd and 5th day transfer?

Sounds to me like the difference in their directions is in timing...if you insert it too soon before transfer then it wouldn't have time to absorb...but I'd imagine it would have time to dissolve before a 2:30 transfer. I'd say go ahead an call the answering service/call line to clarify while it's daylight-- not like you'll be waking them up or anything

I was told to use it after the transfer and not before (so like a couple hours after transfer). Hope you get an answer!

The stupid on call line never picks up. I think I will set an alarm and wake up and put it in around 3am. This way it will be there for 12 hours before the transfer

I'd say try reaching them before you do that since it seems like several of us got differing instructions on this. My nurse said it was important to do it at the same time every day. Good luck!

That stinks I'd say follow what your nurse told you if you can't reach them. And bring it with so you can take it afterwards?

I have used Crinone with all of my cycles, and I always held it the day of transfer, and took it after my transfer.

just to give you an update: I put in crinone at 6am just because I was worried about not doing it. My transfer was at 3pm and they just washed my cervix and put the embryos in. it was not a big deal after all.
