Recommendations for travel activity mat and swing question

Sorry 2 questions in 1.

1. Travel activity mat - Anyone have one that folds up easily for travel? We currently have the Fisher Price Piano mat that we love, but need one that travels? Does anyone have one that plays music that travels?

2. Swings - Ugh my LO is in her swing right now (Ingenuity - got as a gift), but I am trying to figure out if swinging just doesn't do it for her. The only reason she is asleep in it is because her sound machine is on. And it just stopped, and she is instantly awake. Has anyone switched swings and found their LO liked it better? Considering trying to borrow something different from friends until we find out if she likes something bigger we should buy.

Thanks ladies!

We just brought our regular activity mat on a weekend trip; it breaks down, but not air travel friendly, just car travel. Sassy Sensory Gym; LO loves it.

We also have a snugapuppy swing; it's massive but she loves it. I believe the motion, but also the angle of the seat really works for her. She likes the mirrored mobile. It is massive, but I use it daily.

AMA & SAIF. TTC #1 since Oct. 2010. DX: Unexplained. BFP on break after 32 months trying and 2 med cycles. Baby girl born at 40w0d!

  • We have the snugabunny swing. It's huge but both of my kids have loved it. For travel I probably wouldn't take a whole mat. Id just take some of the toys from it and put them on a blanket or hold them above DS.

This re: the mat. TBH we are super minimalist and don't even have a mat at home; we use @clo1982‌'s method instead. Blanket and toys, done. That seems like a much easier solution for travel, too!

But.....we're minimalists. I just packed aaaaaall of my and LO's stuff for a long weekend with friends, and everything fits in our diaper bag and one big tote bag, which is mostly full of his cloth diaps. That's it. All. Everything for the two of us. (MH has one small duffel for himself as well).
