Someone talk to me about silent labor... pain free labor?

I am 37.3 weeks with a singleton and have had tons of BH over the past few weeks.

Overnight I had several wipes with bright red blood. While I have a LOT of pressure in my lower back and uterus, there doesn't seem to be any real contractions happening.

My history with the previous two girls is that once we get to bright red blood we are talking birth in 3-4 hours... but I just can't reconcile that with having no contractions.

No sexual activity or other stimuli to the cervix to cause the bleeding. .. only thing I can think of is silent labor. But isn't that incredibly rare? And even if they didn't hurt, wouldn't I feel the tightening of the uterus on my tummy?

Going to the doc in a few h o urs, but I am really baffled here. Thoughts?

ETA: Ooook, never mind. I missed it. OP, it sounds like the start of normal labor to me. Each pregnancy is different. Sounds like bloody show to me, so keep an eye out. Good luck today.

Not just you! I read the title and thought of the Scientology practice of silent birth, which is very different from what the OP is talking about.

OP, good luck with your appointment, hope you're able to get some answers from your doctor!
