The UO thread and my marathons of "say yes to the dress" are making me want to see your wedding dresses! I think we did this before but it was a looooong time ago.
...if you don't want photos of the real you on here, perhaps consider a photo from the designers website?
I'll play! This Maggie Sotterro dress was bought 3 weeks before my wedding after crappy alterations ruined my first dress (which was clearance from David's). I totally lucked out and LOVED IT!
Mine is also David's Bridal, there is no such thing as a good picture of this dress (not even the catalog pictures did it justice) but it had flowers and some light beading on the bust, totally not a length I would have originally chosen but I loved my dress and it was perfect for the Montana summer heat! My mom made my veil and I went full on cathedral length, which my nephew stepped on so I got whiplash about 2 minutes before this picture was taken me and my daddy.
I ended up getting the first dress I tried on. I wasn't super picky and was never a girl who had always dreamed about her dress. It was super simple and not expensive. I got it cause i thought I looked good in it and all I needed to do was get a pretty crystal belt.
First pic is while I was getting ready. Second pic is my dad 'giving me away' and shows the back.
Your dresses are all so lovely! I loved my dress, but it wasn't what I thought I'd end up with. I did not want to wear ivory, but I hated this dress in white. I almost didn't try it on! The back was so pretty. I don't have a great pic of it on my iPad, but even a bad candid while the dress was bustled looks good!
We decided to hurry up and plan a wedding after finding out whoopsababy. I bought this off the rack at David's Bridal for $199. It was flowy and casual, which would hide my 4 month bump and fit our style. It was strapless but I wanted halter so had a strap added.
Here's one of mine. As stated in the UO thread, the dress was originally purchased because I should have been 6 months pregnant-instead, i was 6 weeks pp after our 20 week stillbirth. Not sure if it is visible (because mobile photos=tiny!) but we added splashes of pink to our red and ivory theme to honor our baby girl.
Love wedding dresses!!! Here's mine - and my shoes, because I loved them
My dress was an off-label (no big name/brand) and was the 2nd dress I tried on. (Confession: I realized my shoes contradict my pointy toe shoe UO. I should have indicated "closed toe" maybe. I also forgot how pointed these were!)
These dresses are amazing! And of course, all of you ladies make them even more beautiful. I had a Maggie Soterro dress and absolutely loved it. I have massive shoulders and this dress for some reason made them look not so manly.
I don't have any great shots of just the dress, but these give an idea. It had a corset back with the same lace motif repeated around the corset and on the bottom edge if the chapel train. You can sort of see in the photo with my parents that there's a lace inset in the plain satin skirt. And sleeves! Cap ones, at least.

My Wedding Bio from back in the day
@cyclonewxchick congrats on the upcoming wedding, and gorgeous dress! I hope you have a beautiful day I'm really curious where you're getting married, I got married at the golf course right by Mystic Lake Casino if you know where that is.
I do know it! We decided on Schaar's Bluff in Hastings. I love the river views!! I'll post pics for everyone that wants to see them
My first stop was David's and I totally thought I'd get a dress from there, but I didn't think any of them were that great. I ended up going to literally 10+ stores and trying on over 50 dresses. I thought plenty of them were nice, but I just didn't LOVE any of them. Then I wandered into a small shop, tried this one on, and knew it was the one. Of course then there were fit issues and the week before the wedding I was trying to find a new one, but hey, in the end, it was nice
@cyclonewxchick I had to look that up--what a beautiful location!! No, we were in a tiny town in the northwest corner of CT. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!
I also feel like I should confess that I was a three veil bride. My cathedral length detached to leave just the shorter tier, and then I switched to a birdcage after the speeches. I know they're not for everyone, but I LOVED wearing a veil! I felt so bridal. :x
Love it! I only had one veil, but I refused to take it off, it's what really made me feel like I was a bride. Our alma mater had a football game the night of our wedding, so I changed into yoga pants and a bright gold college t shirt to go to the bar at the hotel and watch the game... and kept my veil on. ;-)

My Wedding Bio from back in the day
I looked 5 million places and couldn't find anything I liked so we went to Kleinfeld's in NYC (Say Yes to the Dress place). my sister found it and I hate it at first so it was the third dress I tried on there and I fell in love!! it was plain in the beginning but I had the ribbon and flower added. tried to find pics without faces but it was hard!
@JoyBaby5 LOVE the purple!! @BlueDot818 I love everything about that picture! I wanted to do a barn wedding so badly with little white lights hanging from the ceiling and mason jars with flowers for centerpieces but couldn't find anything like that in this area. so jealous!
Here is my dress! I got it from a small local shop. I loved it because it had tiny roses down the front of the dress, it had straps, and I could dance in it! I still love it...I just wish it still fit
DH and I will be celebrating 10 years this year and I still can't get enough of weddings....especially wedding dresses!!! Love them all...beautiful ladies. Here is mine Marisa 569. I had white satin and ivory taffeta (sash). The model shows white satin and champagne sash....better to see the detail. My grandmother let me wear her hair piece and would not allow me to have color on my dress or I would have had the champagne sash. I still loved my dress though. My mom made my veil....cathedral length with crystals.
I lovf this thread! You all look so pretty! My mom found mine online and I ended up loving it even though I was sure I wanted something more simple and with straps. It's a Maggie Sottero Eleganza
This was mine from Enzoani Couture (oh you fancy huh) kidding it wasn't as expensive as it sounds. I got it at some store in TN. These are the stock photos.
I love this thread @ziggy903!! Everyone looks beautiful, and so happy! @rosiepeare I am obsessed with your dress -- it is SO beautiful and classic.
Here's mine -- I had them remake the straps with the hem of the gown, and there used to be flowery crap at the empire waist. I also did no veil, but a flower wreath instead.
Hopefully this works... I tried to find pics where you could see the detail. I had a sweetheartish strapless neckline and the dress had lace all over it. Front and back pics. Uh, sorry they are so huge... ETA: The pic with the back of the dress is after the train was bustled. Also, evidence that our wedding day was the one day it rained in San Diego in 2012. LOL.
ETA again: Everyone looks gorgeous!!
STUCK in the box!!
@golfergirl08 - you are gorgeous, I love those photos!! For some reason I pictured you as a brunette.
Mine was also from David's bridal. I refused to wear strapless, and I wanted something with lace. There were only like 2 dresses in the store that fit that criteria. Luckily I fell in live with this one the moment I put it on.
This pic is from my final fitting. I don't have any from the wedding on my phone.
I found another pic where you can see the whole dress better as well as my bridesmaids' & Maid of Honor's dresses. Fun fact - I made all of our jewelry for my wedding day!
